Valentine's Day, bleh so cheesy

Phayu

Phayu had a problem, his problem was that he wanted to do something extra special for his boyfriend for Valentine's Day. The reason this was a problem was that everyday with Rain was extra special. He's already considered and rejected what felt like a hundred ideas each one seemed like not enough or way too over the top cheesy.

It didn't help that Rain would be happy with anything they did, his cute boy was impossible to spoil.

It was no good asking Pai either, Phayu was sure whatever Pai had planned for Sky would definitely fall into the 'way too over the top cheesy' category.

Phayu had made a list of options marking each one out as he rejected it, now he balls the paper up and tossed it into the waste can in frustration.

Think, he told himself, what does Rain really love? That's when his eyes fell on his father's guitar that held a space of honor in his office. Hmm it was cliche and slightly cheesy but Rain would absolutely love it. Phayu even knows the perfect song.

Sky

"Rain what are you giving P'Phayu for Valentine's Day?" Normally Sky wouldn't ask, he would just wait for Rain to tell him, multiple times, but Sky was absolutely stumped. This was their first Valentine's Day as a couple and he wanted to give P'Pai something meaningful.

Rain smiled excitedly and pulled out his sketch pad. He turned to the back where he had hidden a pencil drawing of P'Phayu cooking dinner while Stormy and Cloud played at his feet. The drawing was really good.

"I'm going to have it framed tomorrow," Rain said proudly. "What are you getting P'Pai?"

"I don't know, he really has everything." Sky said.

"You could tie a bow around your neck and give him yourself," Rain joked causing Sky to stutter and blush.

"Seriously, why don't you make him something?" Rain said.

"Make him something?" Sky repeatedly thoughtfully, an idea starting to form. Maybe he could get Plerng to help, he had a hobby of making small pieces of jewelry.

Phayu

"Please, just tell me what you are giving Rain. I'm curious." Pai begged Phayu at school the next day.

"Nosy, it's a surprise. I don't trust you not to let it slip. What about you? I at least hope that there are no live animals involved this time." Phayu said.

Pai grinned mischievously, "That wasn't my fault, who knew the rabbits would escape and cause havoc in the hotel? All was well in the end and they were safely returned to their trainer. Don't worry, Sky is going to love it."

Phayu groaned, he just hoped there would be zero police involvement this time.

Rain

Rain figeted with the bag holding P'Phayu's Valentine's gift while he waited for his boyfriend to pick him up at Sky's dorm. After having the drawing framed, Sky had volunteered to keep it in his dorm until P'Phayu's and Rain's date.

P'Phayu won't tell him where they are going, no matter how much Rain pouted.  He said it wouldn't be a surprise if he told.

The first thing he notices is P'Phayu is driving his Range Rover rather than his bike. P'Phayu almost always takes the bike most days it's not raining. The second thing he notices is the guitar case and picnic basket in the back seat.

"Are we going on a picnic, P'Phayu?" Rain asks excitedly.

"Wait and see, cute boy." P'Phayu said booping him on the nose with one finger.

Rain is bouncing with excitement when he sees they have arrived at the beach. Rain helps P'Phayu unload the car, carrying the picnic basket and his gift bag while P'Phayu has  the guitar case and a large beach blanket. There are several couples on the beach tonight but P'Phayu manages to find them a secluded spot to set up.

"Like it?" P'Phayu asks as he unpacks the food from the basket.

"Love it," Rain says throwing himself in P'Phayu's lap as soon as the senior sits down.

Prapai

"I solemnly swear that there are no rabbits this time," Pai tells a wary Sky when he picks him up for their date.

"Or live animals of any kind?" Sky presses.

"Well there might be a few insects." Pai says evasively.

"P'Pai." Sky warns.

"I promise you are going to love this." Pai tells him with his most charming smile and puppy dog eyes. He thinks Sky mumbles under his breath, "that's what you said about the rabbits," but can't be sure.

Sky remains wary until they arrive at a small botanical garden that is having a special Valentine's night time event. Then his eyes actually sparkle with delight as he looks at Pai.

Pai knows there is one thing Sky absolutely loves and that is plants of all types. When he heard about the special event he knew this wound the perfect place to bring Sky.

The exhibits are absolutely gorgeous under the soft lights that had been set up to give the area an extra romantic atmosphere. Couples wander around the pathways, many hand in hand just examining the flower and murmuring quietly to each other. Pai offered his hand and Sky happily takes it.

When they stop in front of a particularly stunning set of roses to admire them, Sky shyly take the box out of his pocket and hands it to Pai. Pai opens it to find what looks like the wind set in a silver pin.  Three curved lines ending is soft swirls.

"You made this?" Pai asks in amazement.

"Well I drew it," Sky admits, "Plerng actually made it. Do you like it?"

"I absolutely love it," Pai says and really means it. Never has he been given a gift that has touched him so much, just because Sky had put a part of himself into the design.

He pulls Sky into an embrace and feels like he never wants to let him go.

Phayu

Phayu looks stunned at the beautiful framed drawing I'm his hands, "you did this?"

Rain nods, "I drew it from a picture I took."

"This is absolutely amazing. We'll hang it in my office at the house so I can see it whenever I am working on there, okay?" Rain beams at him obviously happy that he likes it.

"I have a gift for you as well, cute boy." Phayu says shifting Rain so he can take out his guitar.

He strums a few notes then sings, "I'm not an angel who can make a castle for you. I don't have power or any chariots. But I have a special heart for you tonight. I'm just a man who dearly loves you....."

Rain lays his head on Phayu's shoulder and Phayu thinks his heart might burst from the happiness and love he feels for this boy.

With Valentine's Day coming up I wanted to do something special with the couples that have absolutely zero respect for us single people. 🥹

Also the cover Boss and Noeul does of Just a man (not extraordinary) is absolutely gorgeous. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
