Today is Thursday and tommorow Ava will be dead. She will be dead. Sighing I drank the cup of coffee on my desk. She is going to die at my house. "Mam, may I come in" said an officer. I opened my and looked at him getting taken back , to see he was holding a huge rose bouquet. A bouquet. This huge.
"Mam, someone sent this for you here with this food." I was shocked to say anything, "Yes please, Thank you" I told him, he kept the bouquet with the the food bag on my table and left. Who sent this. I took a peek in the bag and found my favourite sandwiches in it with a chocolate croissant. What.
I picked up my phone to call Andrea thinking she send it. Dialing up her number I received a text message from Ava. I furrowed my eye-brow opening the message.
"Sorry, for how I behaved last night. I should have known you are a closed off person. So here is my apology gift please accept it. I sent you your favourite food too, Grilled cheese chicken sandwich without tomatoes and a chocolate croissant. I assumed you might have not had your breakfast. Yea well sorry to disturb you at your work. Byee" I smiled looking at the message she is nervous texting me.
Damm my personality can make a Vampire nervous. That'a a new one or she might be acting. I picked the card from the bouquet which said. I am sorry with a simley face.
I quickly took out the sandwich from the bag and ate it. I moaned at the bite of the sandwich damm, I needed one.
"Damm, I pretty sure I heard you moan." I heard Andrea say from the door. "Shut up let me enjoy my sandwich" I said taking other bite, I feel so much better now. Andrea whistles, "Who bought you this."
"Ava"I said which came out muffled because of the sandwich in my mouth.
"She is so whipped, if this girl was my girlfriend I would have married her." I sent a glare towards her. "I can't just eat a piece of sandwich in peace, Can I"
"Sandwich, the one she sent, Who she, wait the one you are planning to kill" I groaned.
"Andrea, you are sounding like she is a human and not a Vampire."
"No, I am not" she said taking a seat on my chair. I stood up and threw the the bouquet in the dustbin.
"Olivia Miller. Why the hell did you do that?" I shrugged my shoulder, "I don't know what will you do with it. Who knows she poisoned it or anything. I can't keep things given by a Vampire, Andrea" I told her.
"I am sorry to interrupt but Detective Davis is needed for the the file report she complained, We will need her statement." "I will be there, you go"she informed him.
"You, Olivia Miller are one bitch." She said standing up and walking out. I stared ahead at the door she just slammed and walked away. What did I do? I sat back down to do complete my report. 2 bodies, men's. Were drunk. I mean I know who killed them. What do I write in the report that a freaking Vampire killed it. Then my family might have to visit me in the mental asylum. I chuckled at thoughts I am having right now. Hearing the door opening, I din't look up knowing it's Andrea.
"You finished giving your statement, that was fast."
"No, actually I was here for the last thirty minutes, and now I am done." I heard her voice. Ava. Am I hallucinating. Was there something in the sandwich.
"Heyy" she called out. I shook myself and greeted her. "Hey, you in station, what happen."
"Ohh, it's just I had to come here to give my statement for the night, I was the second witness." ohh yess, she was. "So, I am sorry, I just though I could come see you because I was here. Are you busy I can leave" she asked me with some hesitation in it.
"No, no I am free, I mean I could make some time for you."
"Ahh, you don't know how it feels when you say that to me." she said sitting down on the chair. "What, me saying I can make time for you." she nodded her head making a smirk appear on my face. I looked ahead to see her looking at the dustbin. FUCK.
I looked back at her "Ava, that wasn't me, I–" "Hey guys, sorry to interrupt your cute moment types. I am Andrea, by the way. The girl you saved." Ava nodded her head giving her a sweet smile.
"Oh and Liv, I am sorry when you weren't in the room, there was a bouquet and food bag on your desk. So, I am guessing it's the anonymous guy's in the station here, so I threw the bouquet in the bin and kept the food because it was your favourite." God, I owe Andrea so much.
"Andrea, can you stop snooping in my office." I mouthed sorry to Ava which she sent me a smile and mouthed it's okay.
"Soo, Ava tell me about yourself any siblings or someone." "Andrea" I said slightly in anger and for her to stop asking about Ava's life. "It's fine, well I do have an older brother."
"Ohh that's nice, what about your family." After hearing this there was a hesitation on Ava's face but she spoke.
"Umm, well, My adopted family is awesome, treated me like their own the very first day they adopted. I–I never felt so much love and happiness I got from them"
"Adopted, what about your real parents."Andrea asked without thinking.
"Andrea" I shrieked. Ava laughed a sad one.
"It's fine. Well umm they were killed when I was 10. Some people broke into our house, my mom hid me but I peeped through the hole and saw the guys kill them and—and" She let out a heavy breath.
"I am sorry, you don't have to say it" Andrea said putting her hand on her shoulder. I scoffed in my mind at Ava's tragic made up story.
"No, No it's totally fine, well I was kinda traumatized by the scene in front of me. One of the guys raped my mom." She sighed. Damm that's some good story to tell to gain sympathy.
"Hey, I am sorry what happened."
"Nah, it's not your fault. Well I think I should go otherwise my mom will go crazy." she said standing up and looked at me. I plastered a smile on my lips. "Bye, I will call you." She nodded her head and left.
"She went through so much, Liv. I feel bad for her."
"Ohh, shut up Andrea it was just a sob story to gain sympathy from you and me. That's what they do"
"They" she questioned.
"Vampires, duh" She shook her head and stood up. "I don't even know what to say to you."
"Love you too." I said to her when she walked out showing me the finger.
