David's pov

I walked into the station where I was greeted by Xavier who started to walk beside me. "So they found two bodies on the out skirts of town, 34 year old male and 42 year old male. Both stuffed into a chest, they were brought here for our examiners." Xavier said.

"Jesus.." I said as we walked into the conference room. Multiple officers, detectives were in the room, me and Xavier both walked over to two empty seat and took a seat as we waited to hear who and what the mission will be.

I looked around and noticed Kimberly who was reading a few papers. Her gaze looked up and raised her brow, she then looked down where I saw she was on her phone. I pulled out mine a received a message from her.

"Hope you're ready because by the looks of it you'll be getting the case." She said in text. I sighed and shook my head.

"I hope not I have a life outside of work." I texted back. She then proceeded to flip through the manny pages, and pointed at me with a smirk. "It's in my category isn't it?" I texted back. I looked up at her to see her nodding her head. I sighed. If this case was sighed to me then over night stays will start today.

The main doors flung open and in came sheriff of the police, we all stood up and watched as he got settled in. He threw a few stacks of records, I can see he was stressed and worried.

"Thank you for everyone for joining, this case is going to be very difficult that could lead to success or failure and it almost even makes me not want to do anything but to protect our family and people we hold close to us and this city. This case isn't just another killer, by some of the evidence we have it's leading to the gangs/mafias." He said making everyone start to talk with each other.

I looked over at Kimberly who shook her head, anything mafia/gang related is a big and scary job. And I'm not just talking about the small little gangs that these guys just creat over the few months or weeks or high schoolers who think they're untouchable because they follow a gang. "Are you sure it's on of the big ones? And not one of these want to be gangs?" A officer asked as he stood up from his seat.

The sheriff shook his head and grabbed the controller for the projector. The screen turned on and all our eyes landed on the bright screen. "I wish that was the case but business surveillance cameras caught all five big name gangs." The chief of police department

"Around the time period, you can see all gangs in the area." He said making me sigh. My eyes landed on the leader of snakes of cherry blossoms, she always has her face covered even though she's well known. But her true identity is yet to be discovered. I know that you heard that two body were found, they were chopped up and put in bags then put in chests . And they were separated from each other at least 40 meters away apart." He said showing pics that forensic took.

"They brought in the body's in our morgue so we have access to them before they're shipped off to their families." He said.

"Now, I need someone who is willing to get to the bottom of this case so David will be the one to take over the case." He said looking over at me as two officers come over to me and hand me the case folders. "David I believe in you." He said making me nodded my head.

I didn't want this case, this one will be a long case . I say that now because we haven't be able to get them off the streets not even close so what makes them think I can?

"I want you and your team to take one of the rooms and start right away." He said grabbing his things and walking out of the room. Everyone proceeded to get up and head off, I sighed and grabbed all the folders and headed off to one of the rooms to begin.

Xavier followed with me, "at least you have me on your team if not I think you would be miserable." Xavier joked. I chuckled and shook my head, I entered the room to see my team ready to start. I looked at everyone and nodded my head, dropping all the folders I had and looked up at everyone. "Alright team, make any calls now because this...this will take a while." I said as I pulled out my phone to call Vivian and let her know that I won't be home on time.
