005. DEAN'S EXTRAVAGANZA✎ S1E1 ⇢ ˗ˏˋ PART 5 , 2019

"THE NAME OF THE GAME"
The night was bitter and breezy. Although it was late, the lights from the new york boards in time square, lightened up everything and everyone. Illuminating even the darkest corners. Cars honk, few animals and birds throughout, and people chatter to one another. One could say the night is still young. The only downside to all of it was, it's detrimental to Dean's ears. His advance-hearing gave him sensory overload in certain areas, hence the word; advance. To reduce this pain, he usually listens for the quietest sounds. Like water dripping on the ground, or whenever someone hits the button to be able to cross an intersection. Just quiet sounds in general that a normal person wouldn't really focus on. It usually works, his hearing would cancel out everything when doing this technique. It's an unfortunate constant in Dean's life.
Rubbing his ear a bit, Dean moans at the pain he felt for a second due to the sensory overload his ears were receiving. Hughie notices Dean's pain and softly hits Dean on his arm. "Hey, you okay? You seem...in pain."
He stops rubbing his ear and listens to Hughies heartbeat, the steady rhythm of his beating heart, makes everything fade out. Every second beating and every second not calms him even more. The pain in Dean's ear faded soon after. kinda creepy but it works. Dean grins at Hughie. "No, I'm good, it's nothin'." Hughie nods. He returns his attention back to the badge Butcher gave him.
Crossing his hands, Dean whispers to Hughie. "What do you think he wants?" He looks at Butcher for a moment then at Hughie.
"I don't know Dean, but he knows about Robbin. So he must be something...right?" Hughie's voice was laced with affirmation.
Dean sighs and mumbles. "I hope so, Hughie." Hughie looks at the Badge once more.
He leans right by Hughies' shoulder which makes him get close to his face, as he looks at the badge. "Can I see that?"
Hughie looks at Dean. Eyeing his face up and down due to how close he was. "Yeah here, sure." Hughie passes the badge to Dean. He grabs it and inspects it more than Hughie did. He recognizes that it's false but says no word about it.
If he honestly wanted to harm us, he would have done it by now- I'm a supe anyway. I can beat his ass...hopefully.
"Y-You're a fed?" Hughie walks faster to catch up to Butcher. "You don't sound like a fed."
"What, I can't immigrate? There's a giant green slapper with her ass in the harbor that says different." Hughie walks alongside Butcher as Dean stayed in the back.
