Tengen is not only well known by Shinobi for leaving his clan, hes heavily respected for it. When your in a community, even if its not the same people talk. The Uzui family was known for generations to be shitty, infact, their whole clan was. So to see an Uzui do some sort of good was refreshing.

Its basically to let everyone know what clan they belong too. Tengen, while it is still a very painful scar and generally something easily irritated, has However covered it. He had a piece done on his chest (scarification, where they cut you to leave a scar tattoo) to cover it. While the tattoo doesnt really hurt, the branded area does. The brand its self however is very hard to see with the tattoo
