Part 1 - The first year in class 7

Chapter 1 –
Sodalite lifted her head slightly, her family's thoughts rushing into the mind-reader's brain, which she had forgotten to ignore. She forced them out immediately, yawned and stretched her back and hind legs like a cat. It was the day after her hatching day, so she was officially 7 years old. The sun shone bright through her bedroom window as she walked over to the cage in the back of the area. It was too hot for her liking, she was a quarter RainWing, which she learned love hot environments, but she DEFINITELY related more to her three quarters of NightWing blood. She was a pretty obvious hybrid; she resembled a NightWing, with dark bluish-black scales and silver star scales under her wings and beside her eyes. She also had a really long flexible tail and a RainWing ruff behind her ears, and the top of her wings were black fading into neon blue with streaks of gold like a lightning storm. She had blue and gold scales running in a line down her neck, above her belly and along her tail. Her parents always said she was beautiful, but just to herself, she thought she was an annoying failure. Sodalite tugged on the dodgy handle configuration on the front of the cage, until it finally opened. She gently scooped her talons under her lizard's smooth belly and run them carefully from the tip of his nose and over his head, across his spiky back and down his long, striped tail. "Hi Rocky, good morning sweet baaaaby", She said, as Rocky stared at her with a tired expression. She kissed his little nose, popped him on the miniature saddle on her back and strapped him in so he wouldn't fall of when she flew away. She climbed onto her windowsill, lifted up her wings and took off with a heavy beat of her wings.
