The midnight man ritual

Chapter 1: The ritual.(sam)

Brennen, Colby, and Katrina were all sitting and listening to me explain the rules to them. "Alright guys, are you ready to do this?" I asked them after explaining the rules. "No," my girlfriend Katrina, also known as Kat said. "Ughhhh do we have to do this can't we just get some fuckin' Mcdonalds or somethin" Brennen said. "Nah bro! If I'm dying you're dying with me!" My best friend Colby said. We all got up and started the ritual because it was 11:45 and the ritual had to end at 12am on the dot.
We finished turning all the lights off. It was 11:55 now so we had to write our names on our paper, and sacrifice our blood. After our 22nd knock at 12am on the dot, we finally finished the ritual.
"Alright what do we do now?" Colby said. "Now we walk around for 3,and wait to see if the midnightman is in our house..."
For the first hour and a half, Nothing happened, and Brennen,and Colby were just goofing off trying to scare everybody. "OK! GUYS! Seriously stop, this is serious!" I said, trying to get Colby and Brennen to calm down and take things more seriously.
There was a loud crash up stairs in one of the rooms. It was an eerie silence, no one daring to move a muscle. "What.was.THAT!" Kat said, almost yelling. "What.the.Fuck..." Brennen said. Colby started to move towards the stairs. "What are you doing!?!" I said "Uhhh going to see what that was" Colby said in a "duh" tone. "Dude you're like that white boy who always dies in the end because you went to go "investigate" the weird noise" Brennem said in a matter of fact tone. "Whatever bro" colby playfully rolled his eyes before making his way to the stairs."Well if he's gonna die he might as well not do it alone!" Brennen said
Brennen and Colby both made their way up the stairs while Kat held my arm tightly. "We should probably go there with them." I said while I watched as my best friend and his friend made their way up the stairs."WHAT! No! We are not going up there!" Kat said while squeezing my arm tighter. "Why?!" what if something happened to them!" I said slightly, raising my voice. "Well they are the ones who wanted to investigate!" Kat said, also raising her voice. "Also I'm really scared," Kat said in a small voice. "Alright we can wait down here but if we hear anything or if they need help then we have to go up there"
