Diana's life had been relatively normal for eighteen years. Her parents owned a Pokemon daycare, off of route 210, just outside of Astoria City. Nothing could have prepared her for the absolute bombshell her parents were about to drop on her the day she turned eighteen. The day started off like any other, the blaring of a Snorlax alarm clock, and a disgruntled moan from Diana, who had slept in yet again. She slams her hand down on the alarm clock, sitting up. After pulling on some work clothes, and pulling her burgundy red hair into a messy bun, she heads downstairs.
"Breakfast is on the table!" Diana's mother calls from the kitchen.
"Thanks!" Diana calls, approaching the table. She sits down across from her father, who looks up from his newspaper.
"Morning." He was a man of few words. And Diana respected that. After a moment, Diana's mother sits down, a soft smile on her face.
"Happy birthday, honey. I made your favorite." She gestures to the array of berry pancakes on the table. Diana smiles,
"Thanks- sorry I got up late. I'll milk the Miltanks as soon as I-"
"Your father already took care of it, sweetie." Her mother puts a hand over her husband's, "now um... there's something we need to talk to you about, hon." She seems... nervous?
"Oh? What about?" Diana cocks her head curiously. This felt like some kind of intervention...
"Well... honey, do you want to just show her?" Diana's mom asks Dad slowly. He shares a worried glance with her. Or Diana assumes it's a worried glance... he wears sunglasses all the time. Even inside. He barely explained, something to do with light sensitivity?
"Show me what...?" Diana's smile falters. What's the big secret? Has something awful happened? Her father reaches up, finally pulling off those sunglasses he's had on her whole life and... Diana's eyes widen. In place of his eyes, were two black beady dots.
"O-oh-? I... what's-" Diana stammers, about to ask another question when her father's form completely melts in front of her, and within the blink of an eye, there's a pinkish purple mound of slime sitting across from her. It looks up at her with a big smile.
"Honey, your father is a Ditto."

Diana had no idea what to make of this new revelation. Her mother told her everything. How they met, how she fell in love with her partner, and... well, it turns out Dittos can impregnate more than just Pokémon.
"So... so what? I'm half Pokémon? How... I- I mean is that... has that ever happened before?" Diana puts her face in her hands. She's so confused.
"Your father and I have done our research... it's... rare, but not unheard of." Mom puts a hand on her shoulder, rubbing gently, "It... shouldn't affect you negatively. But... you're eighteen now. You're going to experience some changes, and we want you to be ready for them."
Diana looks up,
"Changes?"
Mom smiles, "well, why don't you take Midas out of his Pokéball?"
Diana looks down at her belt, and the Pokéball attached to it. Midas...? Why? She takes the Pokéball into her hand, clicking the center button. Her partner pops out in a flash of red light, appearing next to her. He was a Luxray, a very special one. She raised him from a Shinx, picked him out of a litter because of his shiny golden coat.
Midas looks at her, getting a good sniff, "You smell different, master..." his voice surprises Diana, making her jump,
"You- you just spoke!" Diana slaps a hand over her mouth, awestruck. Midas tilts his head,
