melodie filan is a twenty-year-old from sligo, ireland and is the youngest daughter of mae and peter filan and the youngest sister to the more well-known filan, shane filan. shane is obviously one of the most famous irish people of the 21st century, as are the rest of his westlife bandmates, kian egan, markus feehily and nicky byrne. however, both siblings are famous and had quite an impressive following but in different ways due to the years in which they both soared to fame. shane shot to fame due to the siblings' mum, mae, ringing his now manager, louis walsh way back when which led him and his best friends to get a record deal in 1998 witch big a&r manager simon cowell. whereas melodie, who was born in the year 2000, when westlife were really in their prime, now in her early 20s, is an instagram/youtube influencer who posts regular singing and lifestyle vlogs of her daily life to those two platforms respectfully. except, melodie no longer wanted to just be known as a 'casual' youtuber and instagram influencer, she wants someone to take a chance on her like louis walsh and simon cowell took a chance on shane, kian, mark and nicky all those twenty odd years ago now.
