The Order of the Void

The Order of the Void is not your local neighborhood knitting club or your typical Alcoholics Anonymous. No, it is much more than that. This order has been dedicated to keeping the secret of vampires under wraps from the rest of the world, and it's not because of "the general well being of the public". It isn't for health, safety, or anything good. The Order of the Void wants vampires all to themselves. For power, for wealth, to rule over everyone.

They already have quite a few in custody, reeking havoc on smaller areas, eventually moving up to larger areas, gaining more power and authority as they go.

Once word of Ariel and Levi came around, they wanted them more than anything. And not just because they were vampires, no, they were a special kind of vampire, more powerful than any other. They were born of vampire royalty, if you will. That royal family was blessed or cursed (depending how you look at it) with a special set of abilities not granted to any other vampire, and was given to them by their father, Harmon. How the royal family worked was as follows. Harmon chooses a mortal woman to bear his child. Once that child is born, Harmon turns them. They will age normally until the age of 21, then all growth will be halted. When he turns the children at birth, they will be granted the special set of abilities from the family. This, mixed with the mortal blood of their mother, made Ariel and Levi a rarity, and extremely powerful.

Harmon fell in love a mortal woman named Amile, which led to them being wed and Amile being chosen to bear the royal family's children. Amile knew what she was getting into, and accepted it.

Harmon knew very well about The Order of the Void, as did Amile, and they tried to stop them by having as many powerful children as they could. However, his wife could only bear Ariel and Levi, and she went barren afterwards. Harmon then turned Amile, and they left Ariel and Levi with two mortals they knew they could trust- Amile's parents. The Order of the Void discovered the royals and was about to march upon them, so Amile suggested that they leave their children with her parents, who had no idea they were vampires. They wiped Levi and Ariel's memory, left them at the doorstep, and vanished.

Levi explained all of this to Ariel and Jake. Levi was told all of this by someone from The Order of the Void, since they thought they had him under their control.

Boy, were they wrong.

"So I didn't kill our parents? Those were just a couple of humans that our real parents left us with?" Ariel asked confused. She was also happy about the thought of her parents being alive but she was also hurt that her parents had left her and her brother behind, and that she still killed innocents.

"Yes Ariel, but they were our grandparents. Our real parents are still alive somewhere." Levi said understanding what Ariel was feeling. Levi also wanted to meet his real parents. He knew Ariel would be relieved to hear that she didn't kill her parents. He knew that it tore her up thinking that she killed her parents.

"Then I want to meet them. I have so many questions for them. Maybe they can teach me how to control my blood lust." Ariel said.

"I think they wanted to throw us off the trail from the Order," Levi thought aloud, "I'm sure mom and dad had good intentions. I just hope they show up because the Order is getting out of hand. We can't face them ourselves."

"So you are telling me that the order just told you all of this?" Jake asked, skepticism lacing his words.

"They thought their control over me wasn't going to break. I guess they won't make that mistake again. I was their strongest vampire over there, but they thought they had a good hold on me."

"Wait," Ariel spoke, an idea blossoming, "Do they know that they don't have control over you anymore?"

Levi exchanged glances with his sister, "Now that you mention it, no, I don't think they know. I think that they believe that I'm still trying to get you."

"We can use that to our advantage," Jake added, catching onto Ariel's plan.
