Melissa sat down at her desk and Leafy appeared as soon as she looked up. "Hey detective! Quick question for ya real quick.." Melissa got up. "I don't have time for your questions Lily." Leafy quickly pursued her. "Pleaseee!" Melissa turned around. "Alright ask me your question." Leafy smiled and said "We need a place to live because our...apartment burned down and we have nowhere else to go." That seemed believable to Leafy. "Please we will not give you any trouble."
Melissa spoke. "I am not allowed to offer my home in an active case that involves you and your friends or family." "Have a good day." She walked away and left Leafy confused. She could probably convince her to let it slide.
Leafy returned to the humanoid friends. Match looked at her and says "So?" Leafy played with her hair. "It's a no from her but I can convince her."
The gang walked out of the police station. Match was told not to share information with the other suspects and she intended on keeping that promise. Firey said that he was going to get a bite to eat. Pencil told him that it was not a good idea to do that. He could set something on fire. Firey told them not to worry. There's a way to prevent Firey from being so warm and able to start fires. He just needed to eat the right berries. Luckily, Firey saw some grapes. Those probably possessed the same chemical components as Yoyle berries.
Firey went to the stand that was selling the grapes and asked for one collection of grapes. The man, who was African, asked if he wanted to bag them but he said no. Firey took the grapes and was careful not to burn the man's hand off.
Back at the precinct, Melissa was drafting paperwork when David came in. "Hey, I brought you lunch." Melissa took it from him. "Thank you, that's awful nice of you." David then asked her if she would be able to pick up Morgan from school, to which she replied with "No, I have too much paperwork to get done and I have a case to solve." David rolled his eyes. Melissa knew that he was mad but it really wasn't like he couldn't go get her, he got tired of it always being him. Melissa didn't care. He married her and he understood how much she had to work.
Giovanni walked to Melissa and said "Was that your husband?" Melissa nodded. "It has not been going well Giovanni. I don't know what to do." Giovanni felt for her. Relationships can be hard and people may not understand. "Talk to me whenever you want." Melissa smiled. "Thanks Gio!"
Firey's phone rang. It was leafy. "Hey where you at?" Leafy looked around and whispered. "I'm at that street where we saw that guy fall on that car. I'm gonna solve this!" Firey became wide-eyed and said "Leafy no. Don't do that!" Firey said more but Leafy interrupted him and said "I want Melissa to take us in and I want for us to be safe here." Leafy was right, it was dangerous in Miami. Firey spoke softly "Please don't get killed Leafy." Leafy said "okay I'll be careful" and that was the end of the call. Firey did not think it would be a good idea to help her because she could be wrong or get in Melissa's way. Firey then started to run that way. 'Yeah I think I will help her' he thought.
