Fiona remained in the corner crying. She was stuck in anger, rage, aggression, and depression. Trapped as Tommy's heartbeat soared. Was Fiona planning to kill herself? Tommy glared at the door. Debating what to do. Should he barge in? Tell her father. Suddenly, his head snapped in the opposite direction.

"What are you doing, Tommy?" Paul asked the lurking teenager. He sighed and turned to him.

"Uh, Poppi asked me to check on her." He said, rubbing the back of his head. Paul chuckled.

"That girl is such a little princess," Paul started with laughter. Suddenly, his expression changed. "Tell her I said to leave Fiona alone. She's on the phone with someone important that she told me about this morning."

Tommy nodded. "Sir, yes, Sir." Paul laughed.

A sigh of relief passed through his system. Paul chuckled, patting him on the shoulder, and walking down the hall. Tommy felt unsteady and anxious. Something felt off, and he didn't want to understand why.

Fiona froze hearing the voices jetting up, sprinting to her door. She wiped her tears and threw the door open, making Tommy jump.

"How long were you standing there?" Fiona asked the stunned man. Tommy looked at her in her intense glory. Brows furrowed glaring.

"Not long, why? Does it matter?" Tommy said, turning to her, standing above her. He smirked.

Fiona sighed. "It's kinda an invasion of privacy. Did you need something?"

"Poppi wanted to talk to you, so she sent me up here."

"I understand that, but I just want to be alone. She can come up here if she has an issue." Fiona said, going to shut the door.

"Wait!" Tommy interjected.

"Yes?" Fiona responded, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Not to be a nag, but are you okay? You seem upset." Tommy said. He bit the underneath of his cheek.

Fiona let out a sigh. "I'm sure you've heard the sob story. My father doesn't know how to keep anything to himself. It was just a rough phone call." She looked down at the carpet.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Tommy offered.

"I'm not sure I'm ready."

"Take your time, I'll be here whenever you're ready." Tommy smiled and went to walk away.

A tingling feeling spread itself through her chest. She smiled at Tommy and closed her door. He's the first person that hasn't made her feel pushed into anything. She closed the door. "Thank you." She whispered.

Three days later, Tommy caught Fiona outside leaning against a tree. She had her earbuds dangling out of her ears. He chuckled. Now of days, everyone had wireless earbuds. There was Fiona tho, old, crusty earbuds.

"It would last longer if you took a picture," Fiona said. She had caught him, just standing there. Fiona paused her music and smiled at him.

"Ah sorry, I was just wondering what kind of weirdo doesn't use wireless earbuds now," Tommy said. His face turned red from the embarrassment.

Fiona's expression changed. She felt a flutter in her chest. "I am not a weirdo! People still use them!" Fiona said, a huge smile plastering her face.

Tommy chuckled, "Sure people in 2001 do," he said, "it suits you though." Fiona huffed.

"I think you're the weirdo here. Just stopping to look at someone for their choice of earbuds." Fiona said, thinking.  "No, you're more like a Doofus." She smiled.

"Yeah. Yeah. We'll see about it. M'lady." Tommy turned on his heels, walking inside her house. Obviously, it had to do something with her brother.

Fiona shook her head the dumb smile still lingering on her face. She placed her earbuds back in her ears, laughing. It was pure.

As she went to play her music again, a guard stood in front of her. She stood up and looked at him. He hadn't said anything.

"Can I help you?" She asked him. Maybe Tommy was trying to pull a funny prank.

"Your father wants you, Miss," he said. Fiona couldn't help but feel as if something was off. The guard's accent was weird too.

"Are you sure? My dad would usually just text me or send my brother. Did he mean Poppi maybe?" She said. The guard got annoyed.

"It's quite my job, Miss, to follow your father's orders." He stated, shifting his weight with annoyance.

"Weird but okay," She said. She went to enter her house but he stopped her.

"Miss, he's this way." He said. Fiona stopped in her tracks. Something was off. The guard grabbed her arm and she tugged it back.

"Do not put your hands on me," Fiona warned him. He made an apology gesture and motioned for her to follow. She raised her eyebrow.

"Yeah, no. Something is off and I'm just gonna find my brother. Tell my father that you put your hands on me and see how that discussion goes." Fiona stated. She turned around and went to walk inside her house. Then she heard it. A click.

Slowly, turning around she saw the gun pointed at her. Anxiety pulsed through her body. Now, isn't the time for a panic attack, Fiona! She froze unsure of what to do.

"DAD!" She screamed running towards the inside of the house. She tripped though, landing in the doorway. She heard a loud echo of a gunshot. Fiona tried to stand up but her body hurt and her mind was spinning.

"Fiona!" She heard a voice call to her attention. It was Tommy. Her face was pressed against the cold tile.

Everything was confusing. She heard another gunshot and yelling in the background but all she could focus on was Tommy. He had rolled her over and was frantically holding the back of her shoulder. She tried to sit up when she saw blood. Tommy kept her laying down. Her mind was still foggy.

"Are you okay? I see blood tell me you're hurt, Tommy." Fiona cried. She felt tired, but her concern was on him. She met eyes with him, his eyes were glossed over.

"I'm okay, M'lady, I promise. Just keep your eyes open, okay?" Tommy said. Fiona didn't reply. She got confirmed that he was okay, and the tiredness had gotten to her. She closed her eyes.
