Chapter 1: CharLeigh

Knocks on the door

CharLeigh opens the door.

"Hey Charleigh have you heard from Maverick? I haven't seen him in a few days he promised to watch the kids today I have court in an hour." Danielle says.

"No I haven't seen him in a few days Danny he hasn't been home." Charleigh says.

"His babymother has been looking for him to I thought he was just ignoring her looks like this may be more serious than I thought. Charleigh when is the last time you seen Mav?" Danielle says worried.
"A few days maybe last...Friday the 13th." Charleigh says.
"My brother normally reaches out to me you know it's only us after our mother died." Danielle says sincerely.
"Maybe we should contact the police and I'm sorry Danny where are my manners come on in." Charleigh says as she moves to the side.
"You're ok Charleigh I'll come back later I need to head to the police station to make a report it's right next to the courthouse I'll check in later." Danielle says as she starts to walk away but before she leaves off the porch she turns and says " Hey Charleigh is Ace here has he seen Mav?"
"Ace isn't here right now but soon as he returns I'll ask him. Keep me posted tho Danny and I hope court goes well." Charleigh says as she closes the door.

I'm getting ahead of myself let's start from the beginning.

"CHARLEIGH CHARLEIGH! Get up now I have company coming over to play dominos and I don't need you sleep on my couch!" Charleigh's mother Shannon says.

"Alright ma damn." Charleigh says as she turns to stretch while laying on the couch.
"Come on na Charleigh I need to straighten up in here before my company arrives! Go out look for man. I just don't understand you young girls, you're a beautiful girl and young you can get a man to take care of you but y'all don't understand that y'all to busy fucking for free! Couldn't be me these men ain't feeding y'all or nothing but y'all fucking um this generation full of dumb Ass kids." Shannon says while cleaning her living room.
"Ma what man am I fucking?" Charleigh says as she gets off the couch and folds the blanket she used.

"Shit all the guys I see you with Ace Mav Ric-"
Shannon says while Charleigh interrupts "Ace and Mav are my friends never slept with them and Ricky is dead to me don't mention him."

"Girl you say that every week no matter what you're 25 you need a man a place and job hell a car to you to pretty to not have nothing girl better use what you got to get what you need nobody coming to save you." Shannon says as she sweeps her carpet."
"Look Charleigh you're my daughter but I have a one bedroom apartment you been here for over six months I understand you lost your job and apartment but dust yourself and keep trying you still young girl you can do it." Shannon continues.
"I'll talk to you later ma let me go out here and use what I got." Charleigh says sarcastically.
Shannon rolls her eyes and says "you better."

Charleigh arrives at Maverick's sister house Danielle and knocks on the door.
Danielle opens the door and says "Hey Charleigh!"
"Hey Danny can I wait over here until Mav gets off work?" Charleigh says.
"Girl his ass in here come on in." Danielle says as she moves to the side to make room for Charleigh to enter.
Charleigh makes her way to the room Maverick and Maverick's nephew share.
CharLeigh bust in the door and says "Hey big head! Why you not at the job today?"
"Damn girl you can't knock and shit I got fired earlier for some dumb shit!" Maverick says as he sits up on his air bed.
"Fired how the fuck you do that?" Charleigh says as she sits beside Maverick on the air bed.
"They talking bout I was stealing food." Maverick says as he shakes his head and grabs a half blunt on the side of his air bed.
"Damn were you?" Charleigh says.
"Man I took a bag of nuggets but shit we ain't have no food at the crib like y'all really gone fire a nigga because of a bag of nuggets I been working there for almost a year now you would think they would let a Nigga off with a warning." Maverick says as he lights the blunt.
"Damn man at least you saved some money." Charleigh says.
"Shit I can't move now I only saved 2,000 and the lady said I needed 2500 to move in and even if I had it how would I pay rent shit I'm unemployed." Maverick says passing the blunt to Charleigh.

Suddenly theres a loud thump and Danielle screams "STOP TAE JUST GO." Instantly Maverick and Charleigh head out the room to investigate the noise.
Walking into the living area they see Danielle holding her screaming six month old daughter as her boyfriend Taz is chocking her.
"Bitch I'll kill you right now you still fucking with your baby daddy?!" Taz says squeezing her neck tightly.
Maverick steps up and says "Bitch ass nigga let my sister go before I beat your ass!" Taz pulls a gun out with his free hand and points it at Maverick all while squeezing Danielle's neck.
"I caan't breathe Ta-" Danielle says struggling.
"I'll kill everybody in this bitch." Taz says with hate in his eyes.
"Come on Nigga let my sister go man." Maverick says stepping closer.
"Step any closer nigga and I'll air this bitch out!" Taz says. Charleigh starts to run back into the room to call 911 and soon as she takes off you here a loud "Thump" and Taz releases a shot in the ceiling as Charleigh runs away.
Making her way into the room CharLeigh calls 911 and as Charleigh is talking to the 911 operator the baby is screaming even louder and you here loud Thumps like furniture moving as the 911 operator tells Charleigh to stay on the line officers will be dispatched suddenly Charleigh hears Maverick scream "DANIELLE!" And then suddenly the gun goes off!
