─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───Thunder boomed from outside, startling me. I looked up from the book Scott had given me, watching the rain continue to pour aggressively. "You okay?" Hayley asked pausing her activity of painting her toenails, from the floor of my room. After being discharged, Noah and Melissa thought it'd be best for Hayley to stay with me for a while, until I was okay again.
"Yeah." I replied, casually tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. Despite me looking back down at my book, I could still feel Hayley's watchful eyes. "Have you talked to your mum?" My head shot up at her, but soon my alarm faltered as she meant Melissa. I crossed my eyes, letting out a deep breath.
"No." I admitted. Ever since I got back from the hospital I haven't told anything to anyone except Isaac and Hayley. Hayley got up from the floor, crawling into bed, lying down beside me. Her arms enveloped my body, as she wedged her head beneath my chin. "You need to stop doing that you know?" I leaned down, facing her eyebrows furrowed.
"Stop pushing people away when things get tough. We're not going anywhere, you left and I waited. I waited for you to come back for years and you did." I huffed in defeat.
"I'll talk to her when she gets home." I agreed. In the back of my head another reminder popped up. Scott. I still haven't talked to him either. Scrolling through my contacts, I searched for Scott's name, I'll need to talk to him sooner or later. After finding it, I pressed his name, hearing the phone ring out. Calling him again I waited, and the line went silent. Hayley sat up from her position, pulling out her own phone her fingers clacking against the digital keyboard texting Stiles. I searched for another contact immediately calling it. "Isaac where's my brother?" I questioned, hearing the storm vividly in the background.
"Uhh? I uh can't talk right now Col. I'll swing by once all this is done though." Isaac yelled into the phone, thinking that the storm overpowered his voice. My posture straightened as I faced Hayley beside me equally curious.
"Until what's done exactly." I replied sternly. As I waited for a response, Derek's voice chimed in a hush whisper.
"Isaac, don't say anything else." Derek scolded. My tongue poked the side of my cheek in contempt.
"Derek Hale. Where the hell are you and what are you up to." The phone call ended and I turned to Hayley shocked. Fiddling with my fingers, I contemplated a plan to try and find them. Looking outside my window, at the pouring rain a lightbulb sparked in my brain. Pulling the covers off me, I walked over to my desk, pulling a very old grimoire at least that's what Deaton called it. My fingers traced the worn out spine, flipping it over. After getting out of the hospital, Deaton had gifted me a box of herbs, strange vials and bottles of liquids and this book. "I know I don't know much, but this all might help you along the way." Was his words to me. I bent down pulling a small chest from below my desk.
"Whatcha doing?" Hayley asked appearing behind me, peering over my shoulders.
"Deaton gave me this 'spell starter kit' and we are going to go find our brothers." I exaplained skimming over the locator spell written on the worn out brown page of the grimoire. Hayley helped as we both laid out the necessary ingredients. A mirror shard laid in the centre of a salt ring, Hayley finished lighting up four candles, setting them in the corners. Peering over at the grimoire, I read through the spell. Hayley took a step back, watching me intriguingly. Rubbing my hands together, I took a deep breath. I shakily held out my hands, taking in another deep breath at an attempt to calm my nerves. Holding my hands above the circle, I closed my eyes repeating the spell. "Reperio opus meum. Vivus. Mortuus. Inanimatus." The room silenced as I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. The palms of my hands grew warmer, a light tingling feeling wrapped around my hands, snaking up my arms. My eyes shot open, a blinding orange light flashing before me. The luminosity dimmed as I looked down at the mirror shard. I squinted, studying the warped image. "Beacon Hills Memorial..." I read the signboard, quickly turning to Hayley who stood beside my closet, stars-trucked. I leapt out of my chair, grabbing our jackets and heading out the door. "Did you know your whole eye glows orange when you do that?" Hayley added as we headed out the door.
