It didn't take long for the Federation to secure the unknown structure that the unknown army came from.

Max and his fellow guards were currently on guard duty at the Gate, the name given to the unknown structure.

It was now 0900 at night. His shift was almost over.

Once his replacement arrived and relieved him of his watch, he went to the barracks that was built close by.

She was just as famous as her husband, the Fleet Marshal himself. If she was here, than the Fleet Marshal was also here.

"Ah, Corporal Stacker. Great timing. Marshal Kruger here wants your unit to accompany the expeditionary force that will be going through the Gate tomorrow. This is a big deal for the Guard. The Fleet Marshal will be watching and I want you to show him that the Colonial Guard is just as good as the Marines." His CO told him.

He left before Max could say anything.

"Ara Ara, he seemed to be in a hurry." The Marshal giggled.

"Apologies, ma'am."

"No no, it's alright." She waved off.

"But he is right about your whole unit going. This is a combined arms operation. Every branch of the military is being mobilized for this." She said.

"Every branch?"

"Everything."

"Then that means...." He trailed off.

"Yes, the Peace Keepers and the Pathfinders will also be participating in this operation." She nodded.

"Is the Fleet Marshal also going?"

"He is. Your unit will be attached to his. You will be the representatives of the Federation. It's only natural that one of the governmental leaders goes and talks to whoever leads those men." He explained.
