The Night

Y/n Pov:

"Do you need me to go with you, love? It's pretty late at night." Jimin asked as I just nodded my head in a no.

"I'll be fine, Jimina. Don't worry. The shop is in the same neighbourhood! Besides, I really need that calculator tonight. The exam tomorrow is really important to me."
"I could get it for you. I'm not doing any work anyways."
"It's too cold. You don't need to. I'm fine."
Jimin sighed.
"I'm so glad my university ended!"

I chuckled at the cuteness of my dear boyfriend who was four years older than me. Jimin and I have been dating for two years now. We met at a common friend's party where he approached me when I was standing alone on a balcony. He didn't know many people there either, so somehow we ended up talking to each other and became very good friends in a few hours. We hung out quite a few times, found out about each other's interests, lives, likes and dislikes, and that is how one day he confessed to me. I was too overwhelmed because I loved him like crazy by that time too. I started to cry and he hugged me, worriedly, thinking he said something wrong that might ruin the friendship that we have.

"I'll be back soon."
"Yeah. I'll heat up dinner till then."

Jimin responded as I left the house. It was my final semester exams and I really needed a calculator for that and as always, I remembered the need at the last moment.

Nevertheless, I went to the shop, bought one, and was on my way back home wondering about the huge syllabus that I'm yet to revise for tomorrow's exam.

"Hey, beautiful! Do you need a ride back home?"

A sudden voice brought me back to reality. A random guy in a fleece jacket was standing by me on a bike. I didn't feel very comfortable with his presence, so I politely declined his offer and started walking again.

"It's very cold. You could just sit behind me and you'd feel warm while I dropped you home. Where do you stay, by the way?"
The guy kept following me as I increased my speed. Home was just a few minutes ahead and I just wanted to run into Jimin's arms now. I hate how this man keeps looking at me and mentions weird stuff.

"Hey, babydoll! I'm trying to talk to you, right? Stop right here and answer me!" The man got off his bike and held me by the wrist, making the calculator and my phone fall on the street.

"Leave me. I already said no. Why don't you understand?"
"Ahhh I have a problem. I don't take no for an answer. Come, sit on my bike! NOW!"
The man raised his tone and started pulling me right towards his bike.
This scared me like crazy now. I should have listened to Jimin when he said he wanted to come with me.
"Leave me, please! Let me go!"
"Stop screaming. It's a cold winter night. You should scream my name on my bed. You don't look cheap enough to scream on the road."

"Let her go, before my punches make you scream in pain."

I stopped crying when I heard his voice.

Jimin Pov:

It shouldn't take y/n more than 15 minutes to come back. The shop ain't that far. I tried calling her but her phone was switched off. This is scary now. Why'd her phone be switched off? I kept calling her while walking across the living room when I heard a light scream from the streets in front of our house. We had trees growing out in front of that window so the scene was not visible. But I was sure I heard a woman's voice.
Then another.

It was y/n! This was her voice I'm sure.

I ran down the stairs and into the streets where my suspicion turned into belief.
A guy in a fleece jacket was pulling y/n towards him and probably toward his bike while my love cried loudly. My heart clenched at this sight along with my blood that boiled in anger.

"Stop screaming. It's a cold winter night. You should scream my name on my bed. You don't look cheap enough to scream on the road."
"Let her go, before my punches make you scream in pain."

The guy stopped and so did y/n. Her eyes showed fear and relief at the same time. Fear because she didn't know what was about to happen, and relief as she saw me now.
"Hey! Who do you think you are?"
The guy asked.
"She's my girlfriend. Now let her go!"
To my surprise, the man chuckled before he pushed y/n away, making her fall on the road.
This was my last straw. I straight up went and landed a punch on his face. The guy who wasn't really expecting that fell on the road too. I got on top of him and kept punching him.

"How dare you harass a girl on the streets? How dare you touch the girl I love? How the fuck did you even dare to hurt her?"
"Jimin, stop, please!"
I was about to punch him again when y/n cried out. I stopped listening to her.
"Now get the fuck out of this locality!"
I warned the guy who was wiping blood off his face now. He quickly took his bike and drove away from there without further question.
I ran back to y/n and she hugged me immediately as I crouched down to her level.

"Jim…Jimin…. I was so scared… I am sorry I should have listened to you… Jimin… he wanted to take me with him I ...."
"Shhh, love! I'm here, right? He's gone. I'm here with you. You're safe. My Y/n is safe. She's strong, right? My love is strong."
Y/n looked into my eyes with tears in her own ones. I felt helpless.
"Are you hurt anywhere? Let me see?"
Her palms had scratches but more than that, her wrist had a blood clot formed due to how hard that jerk was gripping her wrist. She winced in pain when I drew my fingers over them.
"Let's get you treated okay? We're fine. Nothing happened to you. You're okay. I'll protect you always from now on. I love you, baby! I'll never leave you alone again!"

Y/n smiled at me with her teary eyes and nodded as I helped her get up from the streets and walk back home. Painful as it might be, I'm thankful to the heavens for helping me out at the right time to protect her.
