The door of the agency slowly opened, atushi had been up for 5 hours before kunikida got to work 'morning kid' atushi smiled his nose buried in his company provided laptop, he lifted his head up a small amount when he Hurd kunikida begin to use the coffee machine to make his first dose of caffeine (he will have at least 9 more when dazai gets in) 'hiya kunikida sleep well' without looking away from the machine or even quickly glance at atushi he replied
'Hm it was ok, it's cold at my house. How about you kid? Must be freezing in the cupboard' atushi chuckled slightly at the reminder of him living in a cupboard, when kyoka moved into his small stuffy apartment there was no room for another bed without them touching and being uncomfortable so he moved into the cupboard.
'Hm I never sleep well, the cold thought is nothing I have like five blankets' kunikda let out a 'pft' sound as if he didn't believe that atushi wasn't bothered. Both of them were now sat at there desks kunida worked on the space directly in front of atushi, he could see kunikida's occasional concerned glance at him, kunikda always looked at him with eyes coated in sympathy, coated in pity he didn't mind the concern for his wellbeing, he loved it in fact but pity, pity he could not stand. Kyoka, rampo, and Kenji burst through the door 'HEY GUYS HOW LONG YOU BEEN HERE FOR?!!' Kenji screamed with an optimistic tone, Kenji walked over to his personal draw to grab his strawberry milkshake all while not losing eye contact with the back of kunikidas head (well his eyes were closed but his head was locked onto kunikidas)
'For maybe 10 minutes' kunikida says in an annoyed condescending tone
'Hm so we must be on time then since you get to work 10 minutes early! How about you atushi?'
Atushi ran on the old orphanages timetable it was instincts he thought if he was to early he would be met with fukuzawa, Fukuzwa's authority scared him so he would rather avoid him (fukuzawa usually has work outside The office though so gets in later then everyone else most days) but if he was too late he would be punished, hurt, or kicked out it's never happened but he still had the paranoia in the back of his mind. Atushi got to work by 4 am and it was now nine.
'I got into work at 4 am' everyone was now all at there desks with their respective morning drink or breakfast, kunikda looked concerned again, kyoka knew he got up early but wasn't aware how early and Kenji and rampo both got up at 8:45 and were wondering how it's possible for a person to get up that early.
'Atushi that isn't good for you' kyoka spoke up, she stared stright into his eyes but it look more like she was staring straight into his soul, he smiled and tilted his head slightly to the right.
About four hours past, atushi had fished all his work kunikida was just getting there, Kenji and rampo were bearly awake and just starting there work for the day, all of a sudden fukuzawa and dazai burst through the door with such force it almost fell off it's hinges everyone else shot up and greeted fukuzawa.
'Good morning everyone' he nodded and walked away into his office, that was usually the most atushi and the rest of the members saw of the boss.
'Hey kyoka do you want to go get some food? I don't know about you but im hungry' atushi questioned, the rest of the agency members as if my fate stomachs growled in unison and a sigh let out from atushis mouth 'you guys wanna come too?'
'If it's not a bother' said kunikda sheepishly
'Ooh yes please but I can't pay I still don't understand money hehe' exclaimed kenji
'Of course but I also can't pay I blew all my money on snacks' rampo said confidently
'Yes please' said kyoka happily.
They all got up and began to walk out the door when atushi felt a shiver down his spine, he felt like something was going to go wrong but he brushed it off and carried off like nothing happened.
After arriving at the cafe they all decided to eat at and being seated they all played a game of rock paper scissors, excluding rampo and Kenji because they had decent excuses.
'Rock paper sisters SHOOT' they all shouted in harmony, kyoka used scissors and atushi and kunikida used rock.
'I'm out' kyoka said with a defeated look on her face
'Rock...paper...scissors...SHOOT!!' Atushi put out scissors and kunikida put out paper 'damn' kunikida muttered, the waitress waddled over with a gleeful smile on her face
'Good morning Detective agency what would you like to order? remember, if you do not have enough money to pay for your meal You can always start a tab with us' they all spoke their orders and the waitress walked away slowly but the second she got to the bar bullets flew threw the window at such speed you can barely see them the noise of the bullets crashing through the glass, penetrated everyone's ears making them ring and pop painfully.
'DUCK' atushi screamed they all launched themselves at the underneath of the table almost bumping into each other. For three minutes bullets shot at the agency members and the workers at the bar
'They dead?'
'course not now we weren't shooting to kill 'em stupid' two different voices spoke one with a timid, shy tone of voice most likely a boy no older then 21 and the other had a loud dominating voice, with an accent, most likely from southern America. All of a sudden the air around the agency members smelt sweet like cinnamon, and roses usually wonderful smells when separated but when together they overwhelm the senses, the air around them got stuffy It was hard to breathe and all of a sudden atushi felt tired.. drowsy and his sight began get blurry covered in a coat of haze 'kyo...ka' his eyes shut.
