The sun was still just peaking over the horizon. Riddle could feel the cold morning breeze across his skin. He looked up as pink and golden light filtered through the trees from the rising sun. He felt amazing; it was like a massive weight was finally lifted off his shoulders.

This must be what freedom feels like, he thought. It felt wonderful. HE felt wonderful. He felt like a brand-new person. He slowed his pace to take in his surroundings.

"Alright... according to the book, I need to wait until the light of a full moon... which means I'll be waiting about 16 hours. I should have left later... but no, if I did, Mother would have caught me in the act." Riddle looked behind him, then paused. Was leaving home the right thing to do? Defying his mother, the one who fed him and cared for him?

"Mother never cared... if she did, she would have never turned me into a puppet for studying. Wait..." Riddle turned to look back. "What about Trey and Chen'ya?"

"You called?"

Riddle let out a yell. He turned his head to see Chen'ya's head floating near him. The rest of his friend appeared, and Chen'ya gave him a cheeky smile.

"Riddle! Are you over here?" another voice called. This was most likely...

"Trey, and Chen'ya. What are you doing here? Are you following me?" Riddle asked.

"I guess so. Your mom was going insane trying to look for you. She's furious," Trey said.

"Yea! She's all red like a tomato!" Chen'ya snickered. "Anyways, where are ya headed off to?"

"Well, I'm going to this kingdom called "Briaria". It's a place that exists in the sky," Riddle answered.

"A kingdom in the clouds? Wow, never knew that existed," Trey said. "Anyways, I came to give you something. We thought you might need it, considering all the crap your mom's been putting you through. Don't open it yet. Save it for when you need it most."

Trey handed Riddle a small package. Riddle turned it in his hands and smiled. "Thank you, boys. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get going. And if mother asks... don't tell her I've run away from home to go on an adventure. Ok?"

"Dealio!" Chen'ya turned, then vanished using his magic. Trey put a hand on Riddle's shoulder.

"Hey, just a word of advice; when you get to that kingdom you were talkin' about... make sure to just be yourself. People will like you more when you're honest about your real feelings."

Riddle nodded. "Ok. Thank you, Trey." With that, Trey turned and left.

Riddle spent most of his time sleeping. When he was awake, he read in his book, drank water from a nearby pond, and ate his food. As soon as nighttime came, however, he prepared himself to get to Briaria.

"The moon is nearing its peak... I should prepare to plant these beans." Riddle bent down, and with his hands, he dug out a hole in the soft dirt. He removed the beans from his book, then dumped them in. He once again covered the hole, then stood back. The moonlight filtered through the leaves, and a long sliver of it landed on the patch of dirt. With this, Riddle bent down, clasped his hands together, and closed his eyes.

"I wish to see a world above, enchant me with the stars and love." He then backed away, laid beneath a tree, then up at the stars.

I'll be there soon... just wait for me...

He couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of regret. Was he truly leaving his home to find a world he may not even get to? Was all this pointless?

No... I must remain true to my intentions. Any doubt I cast upon myself lowers my chance. I'll get there soon... I know I will...

Riddle closed his eyes, then drifted off to sleep. The sounds of crickets chirping and water running faded away as he went to sleep.

~

Riddle opened his eyes. Where was he?

I must be dreaming, he thought. He turned his attention behind him and heard something. Is someone there? he thought.

As soon as he said this, something absolutely gigantic came down in front of him. Riddle covered his eyes, as whatever was before him stopped. Riddle looked up, and realized what it was.

A larger than life human? What in the... Riddle was staring into bright, lavender eyes. The eyes radiated a tired yet kind, gentle energy.

Do you see this...?

A distant voice called to Riddle. I see this, Riddle answered back. Who are you?

That does not matter... you are coming to our land for a reason. When you see him... please, treat him well. Fate has your meeting written in the stars...

Riddle's dream began to fade. He reached out to the giant before him, slender fingers nearly reaching him until he was awoken.

~

Riddle jolted awake with a start. Darkness covered his eyes as he turned toward the sky.

"Who was speaking to me in my dream... and what is that?!"

Riddle got to his feet and moved around what he believed to be a gigantic plant. He looked all the way up and saw the plant extended all the way up into the sky. He was bewildered.

"This... this must be... the way to Briaria. But it's huge! How on EARTH am I supposed to get all the way up there?!"

The big green leaves waved in the wind. Riddle, though shocked and nervous, mustered his courage and grabbed hold of the plant. He then proceeded to begin his journey to the land above.

~

It had been several hours. Riddle was finally nearing the top of the beanstalk.

"Almost... there... HAH!" Riddle, with the last of his strength, hauled himself over the last leaf and collapsed. He sighed heavily and breathed deeply in his nose.

"Huh?"

Slight rumbling came from behind the boy. Riddle paused, then turned around.

What was that?

Once he turned around, he could feel his legs go numb. Cold sweat dripped down his face as he took in what had made the noise.

"Oh... my God..."

"What..."

Behind Riddle, there was a boy. Not just any boy; it was a giant. A huge, towering giant who stood dozens of feet above Riddle. They looked at each other, baffled.

"Who... or WHAT are you?!"

 or WHAT are you?!"
