Seems like Aubrey doesn't waste a second, especially when he's angry at Kellen. The very next day, he made sure to be up early just to think of some plan to kill Kellen without actually killing him – in the unlikely case that Aubrey was wrong about him.

He didn't want to actually kill Kellen for good if he wasn't a necromancer, there's always a chance for error there but he was determined to get to the bottom of everything. He even asked Sammy for help because he had a very important role in all this.

"What exactly am I supposed to do?" He asked still not knowing why Aubrey was dragging him into this whole mess, but he was willing to go along with it.

"Watch." Aubrey answered him vaguely, and the gears in her head were still turning as he formulated his plan and finally decided to go through with it "I am going to kill him, and I want you to tell me what you see."

Sammy finally understood what his purpose was, and he followed Aubrey when he walked out of the gate to his usual destination. It was obvious that his mind was set, but Sammy hoped he could talk him out of it.

"Don't you think you're being a tiny bit reckless? We don't know for sure if he's-"

"No." Aubrey cut him off, not in the mood to discuss this anymore. He was done with all the talking, guessing, and conflicting facts. This time he wanted to know for certain. "Just trust me on this one, okay?"

With a sigh, Sammy nodded following him as he muttered to himself. "Not like I can stop you."

If he were to be frank, he also desperately wanted to know, but he didn't want Kellen to die. If he did, then his necromancer might never be found, but there's also a possibility that Kellen is that necromancer. The more he thought about it, the more likely it became. Aubrey was the one who was going to confirm it for him, but he wondered how he was willing to take such a risk.

Sammy felt the most nervousness when they finally reached the cottage, and Aubrey walked in without wasting a moment, but he did something Sammy didn't expect. The moment it became apparent that nobody was around, Aubrey went to where Agnes kept her most dangerous things.

That room he entered was a door away from Agnes' bedroom.

It was another storage room in her cottage, but this one was different. It didn't have stored ingredients, not unless they were extremely valuable, instead the room was filled with all kinds of strange objects and finished creations. Even her notes about creating an immortality potion were there, and a collection of letters that were different that usual letters. They looked important, and most importantly, private.

If Sammy was alive, he would have immediately opened one of the letters to see what was written in them, but sadly Aubrey seemed focused on the poisons lined up on one of the shelfs. There were so many, and he was taking his time reading the labels before he decided on one.

"That ought to kill him." Aubrey whispered to himself holding a small bottle in his hand and a name Sammy didn't bother to try and pronounce. He might not know anything, but he knew that whatever it was, it was extremely deadly.

"Are we really sure about this?" Sammy asked, still worried, but Aubrey dismissed his worry with a curt nod. "At least look for an antidote or something. Just in case."

"This one is too fast for an antidote to be useful." Aubrey told him sheepishly, but something caught his attention before Sammy could talk sense into him. Something which seemed completely useless to Sammy who watched Aubrey take it.

"I do not like this..."

Again, Sammy's concerns weren't taken seriously as Aubrey walked out of the door and he didn't waste a single second to go look for Kellen. And when he wasn't found in the garden nor the basement when Sammy checked, Aubrey sat down with a determined face and waited.
