In the early morning I'm awoken to my screaming sister. I groan and throw one of my pillows in the direction of the sound and cover my head with another, attempting to get back to sleep. Suddenly I'm bouncing on my bed because one of my screaming sisters is jumping on my bed.
"Cat! Catarina! Wake up! The names are getting picked today!" My sister Elisabeth shakes my shoulders, squealing into my ear which I'm pretty sure made me half deaf. My hand stretches out until I find another pillow then whack her in the face with it.
"Owww." She groans. "Oh do come on Cat. It's a special day! We're going to meet the future king today technically." She giggles excitedly.
You see, my sister Anastasia is picking the names to her selection today. She picks the names of random thirty-five suitors and painfully slow, will eventually find her 'true love'. I love both my sisters and my country with all my heart but I just hate how giddy people get over the Selection. It's a bit stupid giving 35 different boys the idea that they could be the future Prince of Illea.
I shake my head a little as I sit up. "I still don't understand why I can't sleep in. I'm not the one finding their 'true love'." I mumble. Anastasia walks by while trying to put earrings on and says in here proper voice as always.
"You are part of this family and thus you must attend." I roll my eyes and as she talks, I make a puppet with my hand - opening and closing it as she talks. Elisabeth giggles and quickly covers her mouth with her hand to stifle it. I smirk a little.
That's the thing about the three of us, Anastasia is the one who is proper and born to be a queen. She's a lady and loves dresses to death and has never once in her life looked bad or done wrong. She is literally the definition of perfect lady like behaviour.
Then there's me. Not much to say about me. I'm the exact opposite of my older sister of three minutes. I love sports, I wear pants and refuse to ever be seen in a dress. Tradition or no, I hate dresses. What's wrong with that?
And after me is the baby of the tree of us. My younger sister Elisabeth is the most adorable human being ever. She could make a depressed person laugh. Honestly, we visited a hospital when we were younger with our parents and she made a depressed and grumpy old man laugh. She's adored by everyone and her smile lights up this place on dark days.
"Pleaseeeeeeeee get up Cat?" She hugs my shoulders tight and I cant fight the smile that forms on my lips, she's too cute. "Alright alright but get off me weirdo." I smirk and shove her into my pillows.
All our rooms are interconnected according to oldest to Youngest, thus mine is in the very middle of both of them. Thus ever morning there's a special occasion - or just every morning in general - I'm awoken by the bustling of my two sisters. It's been this way for so long that now they're basically my personal alarm clocks. I smile at the thought, what would I do without these girls?
"Up, up, come along. I'm not going to be tardy today for the Report." Anastasia states as she looks at herself in my full length mirror and touches up her make-up. I don't understand why she wears make-up so much. She's the most gorgeous of all of us.
She has long raven black hair that reaches to the small of her back, but this morning she's done an elegant side braid. As I slowly stand up and put on my robe I look her over. She's wearing a soft green summer dress that ends just above her knee. There are no sleeves so that's pretty daring, but today is technically all about her so I guess she can do whatever she wants. She quickly bends down to fix the straps on her matching open toed high heels. I smile a little, she looks older today.
