Walking down a familiar pathway with flowers in his hands, the skies are grey and the wind is blowing. Rain getting ready to pour down, getting ready to water the plant life, getting ready to fill the pond that are filled with life, and getting ready to cover a man's face so that his tears will be hidden from others.
Jiang Yuelou, the one who is holding bright pink Camellias, holding deep feelings of love, affection and longing. As if the world is moving in slow motion, it feels like an eternity until he finally meets his destination. After standing still in deep thought for a while Yuelou finally took a deep breath and looked down at grave with a small smile, "Hello...Yuzhi, I'm back again. I missed you."
Jiang Yuelou slowly kneeled down and placed his flowers on the right side of the grave, making sure it wouldn't fall or cover up the name he always loved calling out.
In the cold silence, he reaches out his hand almost making it seem he was about to grab someone's hand. Reaching out to the grave a flash of memory came into his mind, it looked like a dream and it somehow felt warm and fuzzy. The hand before that seemed to reach for something had finally grabbed another hand, it felt warm. Looking down at the hand he softly rubbed it with his thumb, slowing looking up he saw the face of a man who met him in his dreams, the one he wanted to meet again, the one he wanted to hold in his arms again.
"Yuzhi..."
Yuzhi looked at Yuelou with his big Bambi eyes with a soft smile on his face. Not a word spoken yet all you can feel is something indescribable, something only known by lovers and a strong bond that can't ever be broken. Not even death can break.
Yuelou feels happy here, he doesn't ever want to let go of the hand that has helped him get through all kinds of hardships. He doesn't want to leave. 'Please...let me stay here'
Finally after being patient for so long, the rain started to sprinkle down. Yuelou came back to the cold reality, his arm still stretched out slowly dropping it just to feel the wet grass and dirt sticking to his hands.
Yuelou sits down, wanting to stay a little while longer, ignoring the rain that is now pouring. Staring forward, thinking of the past, thinking of him. 'Yuzhi, I'm sorry.. please wait a little longer.'
After a couple of hours, he slowly got up as he had nothing left to lose, he bowed his head and said softly, "I'll be back next season, okay?" And with that he turned around and started to head home.
This went on for many seasons, many years but it all felt like it was only a couple of weeks. Never missing a season Yuelou is walking down the path once again, holding flowers in his hands. Meeting Yuzhi again was both a happy and a painful occasion, the same thoughts always replay in his mind remind Yuzhi, "just a little while longer, I'm sorry for making you wait. Keying, is doing well, she's studying in Japan now. Keying is so strong willed, still determined to become a doctor. Just like you."
Placing the flowers down, he got down and sat on ground covered in bright colorful leaves that had fallen off the trees. Yuelou spoke again," It's Fall again, and it's getting colder." There was a long pause before he looked forward to say, "Its been 10 years since you've been gone. I really miss you. I always have and I always will."
Suddenly he scoffs and tells Yuzhi what has been happening recently, that match makers keep bothering him, trying to help him find a wife. They keep trying to tell him that if you don't find a wife, there will be no one to take care of him when he's old. After telling him he smiles and says, "There is no need for them to keep wasting their time. I'm lonely but I'm not alone."
Yuelou smiles sadly at the grave, he raised his hand reaching out again to touch something that's not there, a flash of warmness hit him once again, seeing his face. The hand that reached out touching nothing was now touching a soft cheek. Yuelou felt at home here, he is always happy when this happens. Feeling his eyes starting to water, he softly caresses Yuzhi's face with his thumb. Yuzhi looked he was about to say something, but Yuelou put a stop to it, knowing this is just his imagination, a memory, he's afraid that he will forget what he sounds like. He doesn't want it to come to that conclusion, so he keeps it at a comfortable silence.
