Skylar pulled away from their kiss to catch her breath, blushing as she realized that the jealous waitress was watching them. She opened up her menu and scanned over it, ignoring Alex's grin, but she couldn't help the smile that was tugging on the corners of her mouth.
He rested his head against her shoulder, and her arm semi-wrapped around him. As she played with his hair, she tried to decide what she wanted, letting out a sigh.
"Fettuccine Alfredo or Chicken Parmesan?" She asked him, running her fingers through his hair slowly.
"Fettuccine Alfredo. These places serve really really big portions too, so would you mind sharing? You get a salad with the pasta too." He explained, and when she looked at him, his eyes were closed.
"Sounds perfect." She agreed, knowing that there was no way she would be able to eat a big portion of pasta all by herself. Truthfully, she could probably each a good part of it, but there would definitely be some left over and she hated wasting food.
Sky waved the waitress over, and Alex sat up and ordered for her, saying exactly what she wanted. She was grateful because she normally didn't like to talk to waiters or waitresses. Besides, it was the gentlemen-like thing to do, and it was sweet that he was trying.
Once the lady had left, Alex turned to Skylar, leaning in and kissing her deeply. A blush formed across her cheeks as she returned the surprise kiss, pulling away after a moment.
"What was that for?" Skylar asked softly, her cheeks bright red as she avoided his gaze. Just because they had already kissed a few times, didn't mean that she wasn't still flustered after each kiss.
"Do I really need a reason?" Alex teased, gently pinching her cheeks.
A giggle escaped her lips and she playfully smacked his hands away. "No, but was there a reason?" She asked.
"A few guys came into the restaurant and they were staring at you. I wanted them to know that you were mine." He muttered, his own cheeks turning pink with a blush.
The biggest smile spread across her face, and she leaned in, kissing him back with the same amount of passion from before, pulling him close. He was the first to pull back this time, a cute and goofy smile on his lips.
"You're so sweet." She laced her fingers with his, resting her head on his shoulder this time. Her eyelids fluttered closed, feeling like she was floating, his thumb stroking over the back of her hand grounding her in a good way. He was hers, and she was his. It felt so right.
The waitress came by with a caesar salad and Alex unrolled their napkins to get to the forks inside, handing her hers once he had done so. The salad was absolutely delicious from the croutons to the tiny pieces of bacon, the dressing, the parmesan cheese, and the actual lettuce. It was so good, Alex and Skylar put a line through the middle of the plate so the other person wouldn't steal from their side.
"Isn't this crazy?" Skylar mused, stabbing a crouton with her fork and putting it in her mouth, wincing at the loud crunch it produced.
"What? The crouton?" Alex teased which prompted Skylar to give him a small slap on his arm, rolling her eyes playfully.
"I was talking about us." She huffed, unable to hide her smile. "Just everything we've been through up to this point."
He planted a kiss on her cheek, making her smile wider. "It's wonderful."
A memory crossed her mind, and she couldn't help but bring it up. She was too curious about it, and she needed to know. "Do you remember when we were walking back home from the party? What you said to me?" She asked softly, not even sure if he would hear her over the warm buzz of the restaurant. "Did you mean it?"
