Today marks the anniversary of the inclusion of the sanguines in society. Although in the beginning humanity was concerned about them, today we accept them as a normal part of society. If it weren't for the experimental vaccine, they wouldn't exist, but we wouldn't have the important sanguine blood that cures serious diseases. Without it, we would not have a cure today for cancer, HIV and several other diseases that used to be intractable problems for humanity. We must not forget to mention the sangha who are a tremendous help especially to the health and drug departments because of their extremely well developed sense of smell which they inherited from the sanguines.
However, there are still people who disagree with the classification of sanguines and sangha and are able to go to extremes to get rid of them. Therefore, we advise increased caution. Cases of their abduction and bombing of institutions are increasing. The extremist group Anti Sangvin Community (ASC) seems to be finding its way despite all government measures.
Even blood partners are not safe -
"Felix?"
The person addressed looked up from the magazine. The sang who had been looking after him all the time he had been attending the hospital was smiling at him. His long black hair was pulled back into a bun as usual, and a distinctive mole sat under his left eye. Six months ago he had introduced himself as Hyunjin Hwang, and, he discovered, he was about to finish his last year of medical school. He wasn't much older than he was, so it was no surprise that they'd hit it off.
"Shall we?" the freckled boy asked as he closed the magazine.
Hyunjin nodded. So Felix slung his bag over his shoulder and, as usual, let himself be led to the second floor to the first door on the right. Without prompting, he took off his shoes and lay down on the bed, rolling up his left sleeve.
"How are you feeling?" the intern asked him as he prepared the blood for transfusion.
Felix shrugged and lowered his gaze. "I'm not terribly sick, I don't get any spots on my skin or bruises, but I still feel tired, my joints hurt sometimes, and my nose bleeds."
Hyunjin grunted in displeasure as he inserted the IV into the patient's artery. "We'll get you back on your feet. If I can, I'd like to introduce you to someone tomorrow, and I hope it'll be good for both of you."
The tiny boy nodded and smiled. He wondered who Hyunjin was referring to, but didn't want to ask. If there was something he really liked, it was a pleasant surprise.
It didn't take long for the blood to take effect. Felix felt his whole body relax, and he sighed contentedly. If only he could feel this good all the time...
"Can I leave you here? I need to run an errand," sang said.
"You can," he nodded and opened his eyes, then smiled sleepily. Hyunjin returned his smile and stroked his soft hair. Then he left the room.
He was awakened from his slumber by angry voices, though their owners were probably trying to be as quiet as possible. He couldn't understand everything, but he could make out fragments of heated conversation. He could tell for certain that one of the voices belonged to Hyunjin.
"He's getting worse. If this keeps up, he'll have to go for blood twice a day soon," Hyunjin said.
"You think we have an endless supply of blood?" came the voice of an older man.
"I just think he needs it fresher. We don't know how much time he has left if he's going to get blood older than a day."
"You're not suggesting directly from the source, are you?" an unfamiliar voice interrupted Hyunjin.
