Before the time of man, heaven and hell created rules, rules that should be followed whether it be angel or demon now these two beings don't get along but they did create a pact that future humans in time for they will eventually walk along the realms of possibilities that no one could even think imaginable humans had determination as well as, deterioration, praying and hoping, sinning and selfishness, this is what the higher beings agreed upon humans receiving sins that would later be healed by praying to the higher being but as time grew old and traditions became a relic only continued by the rituals of old.
7 families destined for failure and exiled for their punishment received a blessing, which was more of a curse in disguise that the seven families made pacts with magical beings for their future success these beings, being Deites that the families themselves prayed for and in the past all they wanted was being cherished and praised but in the time of the future the fire of the deities grown dim so in order for them to continue living they decided to live inside a human which got passed down a few generations, now it's 20XX things have changed since angels and demons onced ruled the lands humans making technology, fighting for democracy and even fighting wars to prove a point.
That doesn't matter as of now, though everything will change when a threat of the world comes from another universe or another world.
