It had been exactly eight months, two weeks, four days, three hours, sixteen minutes, and thirty seconds since his encounter with the Predator, albeit with him becoming the hunter and the prey. Throughout that time he has encountered many other planets like that one, with a lot less hunting. Well mostly because he was on a planet where the inhabitants were a parasitic hive mind. Running the data that this particular colony needs to be eliminated and running the feedback data upon a similar incident.
FlashBack
Landing upon the planet's surface and logging a visual feed of the area. Being a barren planet with mostly desert, mountainous terrain that only stretched a couple of yards, and very few oceans that could be more of a lake then anything. It was a horrible environment for life to thrive from both air quality and polluted sand water. Calculating the odds of life and coming to the result that there is no chance of any life to survive even down to the cellular level. Amazo was about to put this planet into his back log as he came to the conclusion but his scans picked up life signs on the planet.
Curious, he decides to check what life thrives on this desolate world. Trying to find the faint life signature that appeared off the horizon only to lose it again. Doing deep scans across the vast desert surface to find nothing other than the mineral composition of the polluted waters. Stopping in the air he pondered his thoughts about the scan logs and comparing data and time stamps from the most updated logs. Looking around as his system compares notes he sees nothing across the fast desserts.
'Must have been an error in the system' He said, wondering if had made an error before yet his data has always been 99.9% right. Only allowing a point 0.1 margin of error due to the chaotic nature of the galaxy.
Searching through the scan logs the data had proved that the planet did indeed have life despite the faint signature. Creating a visual representation that came out of his eyes. Turned the image of the planet into a 3D hologram. Looking across the surface of the planetary display the life on the surface was indeed negative. But from the previous logs and newly updated ones the faint life signatures were found clustering at a single location. Being deep underground underneath the planet's second crust.
Making a note that his deep scans need to include underneath the planet surface for overlooking a crucial detail that may spell both life and death if he was caught unaware. Putting away the 3D display he phased to where the cluster of faint life signatures was located. A few minutes go by until he reaches one of the gaps in the dirt and unphased as he walks around what appears to be a tunnel.
Looking around and tracing his hand against the tunnel wall. Feeling the shape of these were less smooth and more rough then any natural occurring phenomenon. Especially this low underground. Moving the dirt as it fell to the ground came to the conclusion it was dug by something. But what? Suddenly a pair of footsteps can be heard coming across the tunnel and towards his location. Acting quickly he morphs his body color with the dirt around him. Pressing his back against the wall and blending in like a chameleon. Hearing the footsteps became louder and louder until he saw what made those noises. Finding the planets...inhabitants.
