I woke up at 5am as usual so that I could make it to practice by 6. When I walked downstairs my mom was waiting to drive me to practice, when we got into the car it was a long awkward drive.

I decided to break the silence "so what are you gonna do today mom?" I asked nervously

She stayed silent

"Mom?" I asked with worry in my voice

"Y/n.... I have.. something to tell you" she said very nervous

"What is it mom?" I asked very curious

"Today...will be ur last basketball practice..." She replid shyly

"WHAT!?!?" I screamed shocked

"But...why?" I asked holding back the tears in my eyes

"Because your dad got a better job in Canada" she said a awkwardly

"CANADA!!!" I screamed

"STOP SCREAMING!!!" she screamed back

"FINE!" I replied bluntly

The next 5 minutes were full of totally silent awkwardness.

"So when are we moving to Canada? I asked while rolling my eyes

"We are leaving in a week" she replied emotionless

"That's soon" I replied confused

"They want your dad to start his new job as soon as possible" she replied

"Guess I better start packing when I get home then" I replied sadly

"Yeah we should start packing as soon as possible" she said sternly

It was silent the rest of the car ride. I was moving so far but the only thing I seemed to care about was my team, I didn't want to leave my basketball team they were like my second family. But since I'm only 15 I am obligated to go.

All practice I was off my game I kept missing easy shots my defence was horrible overall my mood was shot. At the end of practice I had to tell my team and my coach that I was moving.

Everyone was starting to leave practice when I called for them

"HEY GUYS!" I said loud enough for them to be able to hear me.

They all started to walk toward me murmuring wondering what I was going to say.

"I have some bad news" I said sadly

"Y/n what is it" my coach asked curiously

"I am moving to Canada for my dad's work so I won't be able to play on the team anymore" I said starting to cry

Everyone was shocked and came to give me a hug. Hugs were not really my thing but this is an exception.

After that my mom came and picked me up from practice.

Let's just say that it was the most silent and awkward car ride that I think I'll ever have.
