The Belchers were all sitting in front of the TV in the living room, watching the news.
''The outbreak has already costed so many lives, we don't know how to stop this. We advise citizens to stay inside and block all doors and windows and don't let them----AH!-ARGH-NONONO!-'' It was immediately cut off, leaving the TV screen blank. ''O-oh my god..'' Linda muttered, horrified, her whole body was shaking. ''M-mom, are we going to die?'' Louise asked, holding onto her mother.
''I don't..wanna die.'' Tina said quietly. ''N-no, we...we'll survive this. We are going to stay inside and--'' ''Lin. Don't..just. I'm not sure if we can ...get through this easily. We need to make a plan.'' Bob said, interrupting his wife. ''I-i'm just so scared Bobby! I can't--I-i..'' Linda yelled, breaking out into tears.
Gene would run up to his mother and hug her. ''Oh my babies, come h-here.'' Tina would walk up to her mother and also hug her. Bob made his way over to the window, looking down to the streets. He saw so many infected one's crawling around, it was disturbing to look at.
''Let's just...stay inside. We need to save our food, and if we don't have any left, I'll get some. I'm..not sure where but there has to be something.''
The father said, closing up the curtains and turning to his family. ''O-okay Bobby. Kids, go into your rooms. Me and your father have to do something..'' All the kids let go of their mother and made their way to their rooms.
Linda and Bob walked up into the attic, getting anything they could use to block windows and doors. After half and hour, they were done. ''God. Bob. A-are you sure we can get through this?..'' Linda asked her husband. ''I'm...really not sure. But, let's just try to. I'll call teddy to ask if he has some...tools that we can use..'' He said, taking his phone and calling his friend Teddy.
Immediately, Teddy picked up the phone. He seemed to be a bit stressed.
''Teddy! Oh my god i'm so glad you survived.-'' ''Hey B-bob! Watcha need?'' Teddy said, growling and some...weird noises could be heard in the background. ''What's happening---What's that growling in the background?'' Bob frantically asked him. ''I-i'm just---trying to hold down the door so the zombies wont c-come in--heh!'' Teddy could feel tears forming up in the corners of his eyes. ''TEDDY!--OH MY GOD! NONO!'' Bob screamed. ''I-it's---alright!-WOAH--WAHHH!'' Out of nowhere, you could hear loud yelling and some gargling sounds, presumably coming from one of the zombies. ''NONO! PLEASE TEDDY NO!'' Silence. You could hear nothing, just silence.Out of nowhere Teddy would start talking ''B-bob..- cough cough- I'm sorry...this is a b-bad way to go. They...they got me.-'' Teddy said, whipping his tears away.
''NOT NOW TEDDY! PLEASE WE NEED YOU!'' Bob said, the grip on his phone tightened. ''It's...--o-okay. Just..stay alive for me..--argh-'' Bobs friend said quietly, already feeling anxious and sick. ''T-teddy..'' Bob muttered. His wife hugged him, tears rolling down both of their faces. ''See ya...Bob.'' And with that said, Teddy hung up. Bob couldn't believe what just happened. His best friend JUST died, at the beginning of the apocalypse. This had to be some sick joke right? This can't be real. No.
The man hugged his wife back, dropping the phone onto the floor. ''We can't tell the kids, bobby. They'll be so...sad.'' Linda said, her normal cheery voice already long gone.
''Your right..'' Bob said, giving Linda a comforting kiss on the cheek. ''But we'll have to get through this, even without our friends. We are the Belchers, right?'' He said, taking his wife's hands. ''W-we are the Belchers.''
-----------------------------------------
A few months have passed and the Belchers were able to survive. Sadly though, everyone has changed. Louise isn't as loud anymore, always quiet. Gene became so anxious and afraid, never smiling. Tina completely started avoiding her whole family. Linda stopped singing her songs.
Bob let his anger out more, becoming more and more aggressive with each week that passed. It ruined the once so happy family.
Tina sat on her bed, her whole room was destroyed. All her horse posters were ripped of the wall, her horse figures broken and her erotic friend fiction book ripped apart. She didn't feel like herself anymore. Everything was so different, she hated this so much. It's like a nightmare, a nightmare no one can ever wake up from. She has been thinking about just...leaving the restaurant and letting herself being bitten, so everything will eventually come to an end.
That's it.
She knew what she wanted to do.
Tina jumped off her bed and grabbed her bag, then running through the house and grabbing everything she thought she might need to survive, including a knife.
''I'll leave this place. This isn't home anymore, nothing is home. I'll just leave.'' Tina mumbled to herself as she was putting on her Jacket and her blue jeans.
''Tina?''
She froze. Her little sister stood in the hallway, holding one of her plushies.
''Oh. Hey Louise.'' She said, giving her sister a small smile.
''Where are you going?'' Louise asked, still not moving. ''I'm going out. I'm getting food.'' Tina mumbled, obviously lying. ''Isn't dad getting the food?'' She asked, taking a small step towards her bigger sister. ''I'm getting it today, alright?'' Tina said, grabbing the house second house-key and already opening up the door. ''Also, I love you, sis. Tell the others that I love them too. I'll be back soon.'' Tina said, waving to her sister and then walking outside, closing the door and locking it. There she was, all alone. But where were the zombies?
Her question soon was answered.
Out of the dark, crawled a mangled bloody zombie. He really looked like...Mort? It was Mort!
''Mort!--O-oh my god.'' Tina stepped back, her eyes focused on the once alive friend of hers.
''Garrrgh....'' Responded 'Mort' or what was left of Mort. Tina felt the sudden urge to just run up to Mort and hug him, but she fought it, running away into the distance.
Running around, she saw so many other zombies that she knew back when they were alive. She hoped to god that she wouldn't see Jimmy Jr somewhere. And thank God, she didn't. Some of the zombies even started following her, but then lost interest. Of course, she found it weird but decided to not focus on that now.
''I'll go to the school.'' Tina thought to herself, running over to Wagstaff School, making sure to avoid as many zombies as possible.
When she arrived, she noticed that the doors were looked. She knocked loudly. Mr. Frond, the school's guidance counselor ran up to the door and opened it up for her. ''Mr. Frond? You survived?''
She asked him, a bit surprised that he even managed to stay alive. ''Y-yeah. Me, Ms Labonz, Mr. Ambrose and Mr. Dinkler all survived. W-we...needed to get rid of the others..-'' Phillip said, a small frown forming on his lips. ''Oh...that's...bad.'' Tina mumbled, a bit...shocked that someone like Mr. Frond was able to 'take care' of the infected one's and not have a full on crap-attack. ''Are...the other's here? Louise or Gene?'' Mr. Frond asked, changing the topic. ''No. Just..me. I ran away.'' Tina muttered, looking down to the ground. ''You shouldn't have done that Tina! I..--Well it's not save for you to go back..I --I guess you can stay here with us.'' He said, smiling at Tina. ''Alright.'' She said, giving Mr. Frond a slight smile back. ''Let's get you to the safe-room..'' Phillip said, gently grabbing Tina's hand and leading her to the so called 'safe-room'.
Entering the safe-room, she was relieved to see other kids plus Jimmy Jr and Zeke sitting near a corner and having a conversation. Thank god they were alright. It would have literally killed her if they were hurt.
''Tina!'' Zeke yelled as soon as he noticed Tina's presence. ''Hey Tina..'' Jimmy Jr quietly said, waving at her. ''Hey Guys.'' Tina said, she couldn't help but smile a little more. ''Come sit with us, girl!'' Zeke said, motioning her to come sit next to him. Quickly she made her way over to her friend and sat down. ''Since when have you been here?'' Zeke asked, being a little confused. ''I just came..I ran away from home.'' Tina explained, hugging her knees. ''Damn Girl- That's badass!'' Zeke yelled, lightly punching Tina's shoulder. Tina smiled again, chuckling.
