Arthur, Charles and Lorenzo always walk around me in the paddock. In a circle like shape around me, so no one sees me. I don't like the fame, my brothers live in. They made sure, to protect me from it, as much as they could.
I like the simple, normal people life. Something my brothers never had, and never will have. Ever since I came out of my 9 month long toxic relationship. I needed to get out of my house in Monaco. So my three brothers took me to the paddock.
As we walk down the paddock, my brothers circling around me, like I'm some treasure. They all know, if they want me here. I do not want to be seen, by anyone.
We get to the Ferrari hospitality safely. Lorenzo and Arthur leaves for his F2 race. I stay here eating with Charles, before he has to leave for qualifying. When he leaves after 10 minutes, he leaves me all alone.
I call Lorenzo and Arthur, to pick me up here, before Arthur has to race. But none of them pick up any of my calls. I sigh, taking on a cap, I got from Charles and a jacket. It's hot right now in Monaco, so it's 100% going to make people suspicious.
Walking out from the hospitality, towards the F2 garages. It goes fine, without anyone noticing me, until.. I crash into someone, losing the grip of my phone, smashing it into the concrete, I look up at the other person. I'm not sure who it is, but I think he's in F1, with Charles.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't look where I was going. Are you okay?" He asks me.
"I'm okay, I didn't look either...." I pick up my phone from the ground, to find the screen completely smashed. "Shit my phone." I say, as I see my phone is shattered to pieces. He takes it from my hands.
"Let me pay for it? It was my fault after all." I mean it's nice, but I could never let a stranger, pay for something that's mine.
"No, It's good." I nod confidently.
"Please, it's the least I can do." He writes down a number, and hands the piece of paper to me. "I'm gonna text you, about your phone." I nod, he gives me back my phone. I put on my cap again. There is someting in his eyes, that gives me butterflies, I mean his smile is not too bad either.
When I see Arthur walking up behind the guy I collied with. "Who do you think you are?" Arthur asks him. The guy, turns to Arthur.
"You already know Arthur. I'm sorry, we just bumped into each other. Why are you asking?"
"Get out of here Russel. Don't contact her, ever." Arthur grab me by my wrist, pulling towards the F2 paddock.
"What where you doing there, with him?" He finally asks me, when we arrive in his garage.
"We bumped into each other. None of you guys took your phones, when I called. Charles left me in the Ferrari hospitality alone. So I was on the way here."
"Okay." I don't get why he is so mad. Arthur is so overprotective. I think it's because we're twins, because I feel the same with him. Not that I'm proud to say it, but I do.
After Arthurs race
Arthur needs to do a random Interview, with some reporter. "So Arthur, how is it to be a twin. We have never seen your twin, but how is the dynamics between you too?"
"It's amazing, I love my sister. She's the best person, to have ever sat foot on this planet, I mean she is partly me, so it makes sense.." He laughs. "But no, she is her own person, she has never wanted this life, she is her own person without me and our brothers. A beautiful and amazing model, for some of the biggest agencys around the world. We protect her with our own lifes. She's the princess of the pack."
"What about birthday, I guess sharing a birthday is not alway the coolest."
"Even though we're twins, I used to demand. That I would have my own birthday party. Until one year, out of the blue. My twin convinced me, that we should combine them into one, big birthday party. It wasn't until years after. I found out why..." He sighs. "It was because, no one wanted to come to mine. She knew, and didn't want me to know. She protected me, every single day! I wish, that I could have protected her the same way back then, so I'm trying to make up for it now."
I stand in earshot of hearing it all, without anyone noticing. I feel the tears threatening to flood my face. But he does, he does protect me, he doesn't have to make up for it. It's what you do when you love someone.
Me and Arthur walk to the F1 paddock together, to see Charles race. We sat in the garage beside each other.
Just as the race is about to start. I feel my body starting to tingle, my legs trembles on the hard floor of the garage, and I can't seem to think straight. I stand up quickly, finding my balance on my feet. Arthur looks at me worried. "Everything good, Wills?" Only my brothers call me that, and my dad used to call me that too.
I nod. "Yeah, Turtur. I just need some fresh air, and water." I smile leaving the garage. I walk behind the Ferrari hospitality, to be alone. That's when I fall apart.
I try my best to calm myself down, but it just doesn't seem to work.
FLASHBACK!!
Charles tries to calm me down, during a panic attack. He held my hand, "So take it all." He would make me repeat his words, to focus on something else.
I struggle breathing, but get the words out. "So... take it all."
He nods. "The city's yours."
"The city's mine." My voice is weak.
Charles smiles, at me. "Worth fighting for. It's all mine."
I calm down a bit. Focussing on my breathing. "Worth fighting... for. It's... all mine."
