Allegro Hourglass

It deserted us when the sun dissolved
For the sun was never designed to last
We relate, await in pain unsettled
By the vicious black sky stuck in the history.

Blinded, we long for once outstretched sunlight,
An exploding lantern to hug the street
And help unbleeding flowers grow and combat
And display the blades parading by our toes

In black, i'm sporting pointless posing pearls
To float past endless rusting metal trees
Sick rivers full of twirling little daughters,
And insects sending back a stabbing wind

On flooded pavements, we begin to damn
The clocks that separated sun from spirit,
Our drunken stutters litter every verse
Praising a log rooftop on fire for strife

And yet forever would never transcend.
Your beauty was poison to flawed order.
Nothing like an allegro hourglass
To expose the pearls to sprinkled green jewels.

Yet flames illuminate our memory.
And yet we bow to shreds of legacy.
And yet the light world continues to turn.
And yet we might just get well tomorrow.

And yet... and yet... and yet... and yet... and yet...
