Ever since Aria Skye's mom died when Aria was two, her father turned to alcohol as a refuge. The alcohol makes him excessively angry. Verbally and physically abusing Aria is his way of letting out his anger. Aria has anxiety and is very depressed because of the constant abuse.
Daniel Seavey is a boy from Aria's school. He wonders about her scars and bruises, but never says a word about them. He sees Aria in the hallways and in classes at school and is mustering up the courage to talk to her, find out whats making her so afraid.
