{Camila}

"Camila." That's Alex calling and well, he walks right in the kitchen where his brother is staring at me.

"Jake?" Alex seems surprised. I don't get why  he's surprised. He glances at his brother before his eyes sets in me.

The silence is deafening. Jake doesn't say a word to Alex, and I decide to do what I wasn't planning on doing.

"Can we go out. Tomorrow?" I ask Alex loud enough for Jake to hear.

"Sure." Alex responds as we walk away together leaving his ass of a brother. I'm just doing this to get at Jake for his comments.

The living room is lively, everyone in laughter. Alex leads the way to the opposite couch and I sit between him and Liv. Their relationship is shaky and I hope this fixes that. Shortly after, Jake walks in and you can tell by the silence that something is unusual.

"He actually came." Liv mutters to herself staring at Jake who sits next to Mel. The weird atmosphere that I understand nothing about is cut short by the door bell. Mike excuses himself as Alex follows suit and I'm left all by myself with Liv.

"Any news on Martin?" I ask and she nods saying no.

"Still voicemail." She adds as Mike walks in with quite a number of drinks ranging from alcohol to alcohol and everyone's excited about that.

"You drink?" That's Liv.

I turn to look at her for a second and we both laugh. From what was to be a few friends getting together, it turns out to be a house party. This is because a number of people walk in, some faces I'd say seem familiar because of school but not sure. When the music volume turns short of slightly loud, yeah, it's a party.

Alcohol is poured in different party cups as everyone gets their freak party-mode on. Surprisingly, Liv as well. I thought she's not one for this but well, I guess I was wrong. Squeezing myself through the crowd of people I find myself outside through the back door.

From a distance, I spot Jake. Thanks to the lights, I can tell he's on his phone and next to him is a bottle of water. Water? For Christ sake? Is this guy no fun?

"He doesn't drink." A female voice says before walking by my side.

It's Mel.

And I guess I have my answer.

"In all the years we've been friends, I've never seen him take a drop of alcohol." She adds.

"His loss." I say.

"You and Alex, something we should know about?"

Wait what?

"Nothing."

"The way Alex looks at you, that's a new definition of nothing." Mel says winking as she heads back.

How does she know about Alex and I? I'm too distracted by what Mel said not to see that Jake is out of my sight. Now where could he have gone to?

"Staring much?"

Not again.

He startled me again with his sneaky movements and showing up from behind. I'm about to walk out on him and he blocks my way.

"Are you okay?" He asks. This time his voice is sincere filled with concern.

"You don't look like the knight in shining armor type."

"What are you doing with my brother?" He asks and I face palm myself.

This again?

"Why don't you wait and see?" With that I walk past him.
