*a few weeks later*
It's been about 3 weeks since we've moved. I still have no friends.
Then again I haven't really gone out of the house for the 3 weeks we've been here.
My mom keeps trying to tell me to go make friends and maybe go to the beach but I'm not in the mood. All I wanna do is lay in bed missing my old life back in Chicago.
***********
"Becca, it almost been a month and you haven't left the house once except to go buy food. Go out and make some new friends at the beach," My mom pleaded.
"Ugh fine." I retorted.
"Thank you. You've been worrying me lately. I know you're just in shock in all, but you need to get back on your feet and do something."
I didn't answer.
I got out of bed and went into the bathroom to take a shower because frankly, I feel disgusting since I haven't taken one in days.
After I got out of the shower I dried my hair and put on some light makeup since I don't really need any. Then I got dressed into a pair of light washed ripped shorts and a plane black t-shirt.
I grabbed my car keys and the cash my mom had given me and left.
*******
Once I got to the pier I went straight to the mall. I actually have money too, so this should be fun.
Of course the first store I went into was Hollister. It's my favorite store, how could I resist?
The first thing I saw was a this off the shoulder black and white stripped top that I fell in love with. My mom is probably expecting change but how can I resist to not just buy everything here?
I looked around and didn't see anything else I really "loved" so I went into a different shop.
The next shop I saw that I liked was Charlotte Rouse. I can never find any good clothes in here, but they have cute sunglasses and I really need a new pair.
I walked in and started searching for some accessories and I overheard two people bickering.
I kept staring at them because they were being really loud.
I kept observing them like a creep and realized they were probably brother and sister because they look so much alike. I wouldn't know because i'm an only child but i've heard siblings fight. A lot.
"I don't want to be in this store, it's too girly," The boy with the curly blonde hair said.
"Listen Ashton, you agreed to come with me and I went into all of your stupid boyish stores so I think you can deal with it," the girl said bluntly.
Okay so his name is Ashton. I feel like a freak for eavesdropping but I do need to make new friends and they look around my age so why not butt in.
"Listen Ali, I never asked you to go into my "stupid boyish stores with me,"'Ashton added quotation marks around his words.
Ashton and Ali. How cute. I wonder if they're twins?
"Yeah well listen too this, I never told you to come into my girly stores with me either, so ha!"
"Touché," Ashton said causing me to giggle.
Come one Becca this is your chance go make friends.
"Hi, my name is Becca. I over heard you guys bickering and I was just.. ya see... okay I was eavesdropping.. sorry I'm trying to make new friends. I just moved here from Chicago. Also I just have to know, are you guys twins?"
"Sadly, yes, we are twins. But it's okay we don't mind. I'm Ali nice you meet you," she held out her hand obviously indicating for me to shake it, but nope I just stood there in awe because I couldn't help but notice how cute Ashton was.
"Oh, sorry, I was just daydreaming, it happens.." I said trying to sound believable.
"This is my brother, Ashton," Ali states pointing to her brother.
I couldn't help but stare just to take in every one of his beautiful features. Fluffy, curly, luxurious, blonde locks. Hazel-green eyes. This boy was actually beautiful.
He put his hand out for me to shake it.
"Hi I'm Ashton. I guess I'm not smart enough to introduce myself," he scoffed, directing his glance towards Ali.
I smiled, "I'm Becca," I said while shaking his hand.
"How about we go for a walk?" Ali suggested.
All three of us walked out of Charlotte Rouse and towards to beach.
"Let's walk on the beach and get to know each other!" Ashton said imitating a teenage girl's voice.
Ali and I laughed in agreement and started talking and walking.
"Okay so Becca, why did you move here from Chicago?" Ali asked.
"Well my dad got a job offer and it payed a lot more than what he got before, so he couldn't pass it up and here I am," I answered with a smile.
"Oh, I see," they both said simultaneously. I giggled and thought about twin telepathy. I've seen people do Youtube videos on it and i've always wondered if it was real.
"What's so funny?" Ashton asked. They must be used to saying things at the same time because they didn't even notice they did it.
"I don't know, you guys were just in sync and I've just never been around twins before," I stated simply.
"Oh," they said simultaneously again. I couldn't help but laugh again. They just let it go that time and we kept talking.
After a while of getting to know each other, we were all really tired so we began on our separate ways. Exchanging numbers first of course.
I know my mom will be so proud that I made friends, I laughed at myself, wow I sound like a little kid on their first day of school. She'll also be proud I didn't spend all of her money.
Once I got home I told my mom everything that happened. I was really close with my mom. I loved her to death. Even she could be annoying sometimes, but I mean most moms can.
"That's great, honey!" she replied to my rant with a smile, "I'm glad to see you're finally enjoying yourself here."
