Miguel saw Rach the next day. She acted like everything was okay, and if Miguel hadn't witnessed everything he did yesterday then he wouldn't have thought twice about it. It was the first time that he'd seen Rach at the Cobra Kai dojo, and he was determined to impress her. You wanna know something else he noticed? Rach's makeup. She'd never worn makeup before, but Miguel liked it, he thought it made her even prettier than before. He also got the chance to talk to Elaine. She was smart, she was already reading books even though she was only three. Elaine tended to ramble about Rach, and Miguel would make mental notes about important things about her. Like music and stuff, she liked. Today, only Rach was there, no Elaine.
"Where's Elaine?" Miguel asked as he waited for Johnny to get the boxing pads.
"Neighbors house, my dad wants me to teach you some stuff and I don't like for Elaine to see me fight," Rach responded, her pencil moving quickly against the page.
"Elaine told me you like to draw," Miguel glanced from Rach's focused eyes to her light pink lips, "and that you're really good at it." Rachel felt herself smile. Had she really said that?
"I don't know, depends on what you define as good." Miguel held his hand out, Rach looking at him with a confused expression.
"Can I see?" Rachel shrugged, handing him the sketchbook. She got at least one sketchbook for every birthday and Christmas.
Rachel noticed how Miguel how progressed. She was sure he could go against Kyler and win now. Rachel watched his face as he flipped through the pages of the book. God, he was cute, the more she got to know him the more her feelings for Sam were pushed out of her heart.
"These are really good." Miguel chuckled, glancing up at Rach, her eyes quickly darting away from him.
"Thanks." Rachel smiled, taking the notebook back.
"Okay, c'mon Diaz." Johnny motioned for the boy. Miguel hoped that Johnny couldn't notice how in love he was with Rach. He practiced a couple of minutes before the front doorbell jingled.
"What the hell?" Rachel looked up, seeing Aisha. "No yoga till five. No matter how bad you need it." Rachel hid her face in her hands, sometimes she hated how her dad acted, but that was most of the time anyway.
"Um, I'm actually here for karate. I saw your website. It said that there was supposed to be a session today." Aisha said softly, twisting her shirt around her fingers.
"I appreciate you coming in, but there are no girls in Cobra Kai." Rachel quickly looked up. Really? Well, if there were no girls in Cobra Kai, then Rachel couldn't help her dad with practice.
"Why not?" Aisha asked.
"Same reason there aren't women in the Army. Doesn't make sense." Rachel scoffed, rolling her eyes. Her dad wasn't dumb, just dense.
"Uh, Sensei, I need to show you something in the office." Miguel stalled, Johnny, following him off the mat.
Aisha looked at Rach. She knew Johnny Lawrence was her dad, and she knew that Daniel LaRusso hated him. How Rachel was friends with Sam at the same time, Aisha didn't know. Aisha and Rach used to be friends, in elementary school, but after her parents separated she stuck to Sam like glue.
"I guess you're the only girl Cobra." Rachel looked up as Aisha spoke. She shrugged.
"I wouldn't consider myself a Cobra, but yeah I guess," Rachel responded, Aisha, glancing away from her.
"That was really nice of you, to ya know, stand up for me." Rachel shrugged.
"It's not that big a deal." Then, Johnny and Miguel walked back into the corridor.
