The hostess who welcomed them to the club (it had been just enough for Lan Xichen to give his business card at the entrance and the bouncers stepped to the side as if moved by magic) was extremely nervous.
It wasn't rare for this particular club to be visited by celebrities, politicians, foreign ambassadors even, but Lan Xichen was the most famous lawyer in the country right now, and she knew that just one step out of line – and she would lose her lucrative job faster than the speed of light.
Tonight had to be perfect!
That was why Lan Huan was pleased with the attention, and Lan Wangji stopped frowning for once – he had been quite unhappy that his making-out session with his love had to come to an end so abruptly, the back of his Ge's car had turned out (surprisingly!) quite comfortable for that purpose, somehow.
Wei Wuxian, on his part, was so dazed by all the petting that he was just clinging to his fiancé's arm distractedly, not noticing almost anything around him, impatient for them to be in a dark corner again, and kiss again, touch again.
And Jiang Wanyin was sulking.
He really hated the way people were always sucking up to his lover, just because he was on TV from time to time. This was the only thing he hated about their relationship – the fame, the recognition, and that godawful, obsequious behavior.

There was loud booming music inside, and the main saloon was quite dark, but still – the choice of furniture – heavy and smoky – and the choice of girls, dancing in the 4 separate corners of the spacious chamber, all of them looking gorgeous and tastefully dressed in revealing, yet not gaudy outfits – it all added to the atmosphere of prestige and luxury.
- This way, gentlemen! – the hostess chirruped, smiling sweetly.
She was guiding them into the nearly full darkness at the rear of the main chamber, showing them the way into a dark sleeve to the left that turned out to be a corridor, draped – floor, walls and ceiling – with some soft, velvet-like material which muffled their steps, and muffled all sounds.
There were three doors to the left, and three doors to the right – it was the V.I.P. section of the premises.
