Phantoms (Origins Ghostbur)

The sun was shining bright in the blue sky and the birds were chirping all around me, I was sitting in a field of some beautiful blue flowers. It was peaceful and quiet other than a few leaves blowing by when a gust of wind came by, or at least it was until a voice spoke behind me, "Hello there." I jumped a bit and turned around to see a phantom, he had some curly brown hair, a purple cloak around his shoulders, and a purple tail. The phantom noticed my shock and quickly apologized, "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you! I was just wondering who you were." I stood up and looked at the phantom boy, 

"No, no, I'm sorry. I just didn't expect anyone else to be here." I replied, the phantom looked at me with his light green eyes. I didn't notice until now that I could see right through him, he noticed my stare and quickly stated, "I'm a phantom, that's why you can see through me." I nodded in response. A gust of wind blew by and some leaves glided across the soft grass. The phantom boy watched the leaves and said, "Oh, what are you?" I looked at the phantom with a confused look and he quickly said, "Like, are you an Avian like my friend Tommy?" Oh, so everybody has something about them that's a bit different. I thought. 

I cleared my throat before I responded, "Well actually, I'm a phantom as well." The phantom boy smiled widely and replied, "You're a fellow phantom?!" I nodded and the phantom boy suddenly hugged me, "That's great!" he exclaimed, he realized what he was doing and quickly let go of me before apologizing, "Sorry, I got excited." I laughed quietly and replied, "It's okay, what's your name by the way?" The phantom boy smiled and said, "My name is Wilbur, but some call me Ghostbur." I smiled back at Wilbur and held out my hand, "I'm (Y/n), it's nice to meet you, Wilbur." Wilbur shook my hand and smiled widely, "It's nice to meet you too, (Y/n)." He replied

Suddenly a blonde boy glided in and ran over to Wilbur, "Oh, hello, Tommy." Wilbur said with a smile. Tommy grabbed Wilbur's arm and exclaimed, "I made Phil mad!" Wilbur's face immediately changed and he gently grabbed my arm, "Come on, (Y/n), let's go find a place to hide." Wilbur said, Tommy quickly looked at me and then back at Wilbur, "This your friend?" Tommy asked, WIlbur smiled and nodded. "Introductions later, let's go hide from this Phil guy, whoever he is." I said. The two nodded and we ran off and looked for a place to hide.

Tommy ran in a different direction than Wilbur and I did, the two of us hid in a tree and took a moment to breathe. "So, who is this Phil guy?" I asked Wilbur, he sat up and replied, "My friend." "And Tommy?" I continued, "My annoying friend." Wilbur replied with a chuckle. Wilbur then looked at me and asked, "Do you have any friends?" I nodded and replied, "I have a friend named Niki." Wilbur's eyes lit up, "Is Niki a Merling?" I nodded and Wilbur smiled, "I know her, perhaps we can go see her, I bet she would be happy to see you." he said.

Suddenly there was some rustling in the grass, Wilbur seemed to have known that it was Phil because he suddenly became quiet. "Will, come out, Tommy told me you found someone." The voice said. "That's Phil." Wilbur quietly whispered to me as Phil got closer to where we were hiding, "Will seriously, it's getting dark out." Phil continued, "We should probably listen to him, WIll." I whispered, Wilbur laughed quietly and whispered back, "No way, I want to prank him real quick." And with that Wilbur went through the tree and sank into the ground right around where Phil was. And soon afterward Wilbur hit Phil's arm and quickly sank back into the ground. "Hey, Will stop it!" He exclaimed, Phil then saw me and said, "Hey, get down, where's Wilbur?"

I quickly got down from the tree and Wilbur suddenly came out of the ground and picked me up, "Don't get mad at her Phil! It was my idea." Wilbur said with a chuckle, "Put the girl down, Will." Phil said, I laughed and replied, "No, no, this is fine." Wilbur kept carrying me and said, "Oh, her name is (Y/n), Phil." Phil then adjusted his hat and said, "Well, hello there, (Y/n). It's a pleasure to meet you." Tommy came out from behind a tree and exclaimed, "Why are you carrying (Y/n) Will?!" Wilbur laughed and placed me back onto the ground, "I thought she hurt herself trying to get down." He replied, I nudged him and said, "I'm not that clumsy, we just met anyways so don't get too comfy."

Phil laughed a bit and asked, "Where are you from, (Y/n)?" I dusted myself off and replied, "Oh, just from a nearby village, we don't really have a name for our town." Phil seemed satisfied with my answer and looked at Wilbur, "So, where were you two planning on going?" He asked, Wilbur smiled and grabbed my hand eagerly, "We were going to go see Niki!" He exclaimed. I wasn't expecting it so my face quickly heated up and Tommy noticed, "Oh, perhaps Tommy and I should go with you." Phil replied, Wilbur smiled and replied, "Only if you want to." And with that, I followed Wilbur to our destination.

Once we stopped walking I looked around, we were at a pond with some beautiful scenery, and there was some seaweed at the bottom of the lake. One section of the lake was terraformed with some stone, stone bricks, and clay. Wilbur sat down at the edge of the lake and pulled me down beside him, "Niki, I brought a friend." He said to seemingly thin air. After a moment a pink-haired girl appeared out of the lake and I recognized her immediately, "Niki!" I exclaimed happily and reached out to hug her. Niki hugged me back and giggled, "Hey, (Y/n)!" She exclaimed happily. Wilbur watched us carefully and stated, "Be careful, (Y/n), I don't want you to drown." Niki laughed and I rolled my eyes jokingly before replying, "Wilbur, I'm not five, I'm a grown woman. I can take care of myself."

Niki laughed and had me sit back down beside Wilbur before saying, "It's so good to see you two!" Wilbur smiled and held my hand again, my face heated up and I quickly pulled my hand away from WIll's. Wilbur frowned slightly but quickly continued his conversation with Niki.

A while after the moon had risen I interjected myself into the conversation, "Wilbur, we should head back before Phil gets angry with you." "You two go now, come visit me tomorrow (Y/n)." Niki agreed, Wilbur nodded and stood up, "Night, Niki." He said. I stood up shortly after Wilbur and smiled at Niki before we both headed back to Phil's house.

While we were walking Wilbur and I just talked about whatever came to mind, but soon we began to talk about our pasts. "The stars look nice tonight." I said, trying to redirect the conversation. "They are, I've always wondered how big the stars really are." Wilbur replied, "Tommy seems to be annoying." I said, Wilbur chuckled and replied, "He really is, but I have to deal with him because he's honestly the nicest person I know." Neither of us noticed how late it was getting until we ran into Phil and Tommy on our way home.

"There you lovebirds are!" Tommy taunted, Wilbur quickly exclaimed, "We're just friends Tommy!" Phil looked at me and I just smiled. "Oh, you totally like her!" Tommy continued, Wilbur didn't argue back but instead looked at Phil for help, "Quit fighting you two." Phil said with a sigh. "Do you have a place to stay at tonight, (Y/n)?" Phil then asked, I shook my head and Wilbur quickly asked, "Can she stay with me tonight?" Phil nodded and Wilbur quickly picked me up, "Let's go!" He exclaimed and then carried me to his house.

Wilbur's house looked like a haunted mansion, there were still some remnants of a house party inside. Wilbur led me over to a couch, "You can sleep here tonight, I'll go get you a pillow and a blanket. This will be like a sleepover!" Wilbur said happily and then went off to go find the blanket and pillow. Once he came back he set the couch up for me and had me lie down, he placed the blanket over me and I quickly fell asleep afterward.
