Today was just like any other day, boring as hell. Everybody was getting on my nerves which keeps reminding me as to why I hate people.

The classroom was loud as hell, people were up walking around, play fighting in the corners or throwing shit while the sub just sat at the front of the class on her phone.

"You okay?" Niyah asked sliding into the desk in front of me.

I just nodded my head not wanting to talk especially not while my social battery is at a good 5 percent. I have to save that for when I met up with my sister Tiana.

"Social meter dead?" Niyah asked looking up from typing on their phone.

I just shrugged and continued to finish doing the work our teacher, Mr. Terry, left for us.

"Here." Niyah said pushing a container of cotton candy, a regular sized bag of cheeto puffs and a red Gatorade.

"Thank you." I mumbled putting the cotton candy in my bookbag.

I opened the chips using my left hand to eat and my right to do my work. Once I finished I slid the paper to Niyah letting them copy the answers.

"It's a party tomorrow, you and Tiana gone slide?" They asked smiling I assume at the thought of Tia.

"Tia might go but I'm not going." I mumbled taking a sip of my gatorade.

"Y'all one in the same. When one move the other does too. So if you don't go she won't go." They said with a slight frown on their face.

"If you does this one thing for me I'll get you whatever." Niyah said but it almost sounded like a plead.

I just nodded already over this party and the shit didn't even start yet. I packed all my things up and sat back in my seat going on my phone. I scrolled aimlessly through instagram not really paying attention to the post until I came across this fine ass stem. They were fine as hell and the lighting from their room didn't no justice.

The bell rung I grabbed my bookbag heading to the courtyard to wait for my sister.

"Damn just leave me." Niyah said as they caught up to me.

I just turned my music on as I waited at the table we always sat at. Twenty minutes later Tiana came walking around the corner with a bag of food.

"Hey Yaya. Hey Niyah." Tiana said as she sat across from me but next to Niyah.

"Hey love." Niyah said making Tia blush.

"I got wings." She said sliding a container towards me and one to Niyah.

"Thank you." I mumbled taking the bone out of the flat.

"It's a party tomorrow Yaya already said she sliding, you going too?" Niyah asked Tia.

"You really going?" Tia asked looking up from her wings to look at me.

I looked over at Niyah, who was looking at me with pleading eyes, than looked back at Tia before nodding my head in conformation. She smiled before telling Niyah that she would be there.

"I have to go see my coach so imma see you ladies tomorrow." Niyah smiled grabbing her wings and walking away.

"Whew lord that girl is fione as hell." Tia smiled as she looked back to where Niyah was previously at.

"Person not girl respect the pronouns." I told her while wiping my hands on a napkin.

For the rest of lunch Tia talked about what she wanted to wear to the party and how the night was going to go.

"Ms. Keen would you like to share what you wrote?" Teacher Jamie asked looking straight at me.

"Umm I guess I can." I said as I sat in my seat fully and reopened my notebook.

"Can you stand up?" Teacher Jamie asked giving me a soft smile.

I complied and stood up with my notebook in hand.

"Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with grasses waving above one's head, and to listen to silence. To have no yesterday and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace." I said loud enough for those who payed attention to hear.

After I finished the room filled with snaps making me smile a little as I took my seat.

"That was really beautiful Ms. Keen, thank you for sharing." Teacher Jamie said as she gave a wide closed mouth smile.

"That is all for today, your homework is to finish the story you all started writing before the break. It is do next time I see you which is...Tuesday, you have the rest of class to yourselves. Either make up missing assignments for my class or your other classes or work on your story." Teacher Jamie said as they took a seat at their desk.

I packed all my things up slouching in my seat. I stared directly ahead not wanting to be at school anymore.

"Ms. Keen come here please." Teacher Jamie said waving me to their desk.

I slowly stood from my seat making my way to the back of the class. I stood on the side of their desk waiting for them to talk.

"Are you okay?" They asked putting their attention on me.

"...Yeah." I hesitated before speaking.

"You sure because that was a long pause."

"Just ready to go home I had a long day." I lied giving a fake smile.

"You know if you ever need to talk, my door is always open and you know this." Teacher Jamie said giving me a warm smile.

I nodded and walked back to my seat. Teacher Jamie really cool as fuck. Like it's so much shit I tell them from me almost getting into fights to me getting fired from my job.

20 minutes later the announcements came on and as always everyone was loud as hell making it very hard to hear anything that was said over the intercom. Once our building number was called I grabbed my bookbag walking out the door.

"Have a good weekend." Teacher Jamie said as we all walked out.

"Yaya!" I heard from behind me.

I turned seeing Tia walk up with her friends Jayla and Jordan.

"Yes?" I mumbled.

"Can we drop Jayla and Jordan off on our way home." Tia asked as we walked to my car.

"I guess." I shrugged unlocking the car doors.

They all got in while I put my bookbag in the trunk. Once I was in the car I connected my bluetooth playing Luh Tyler 'Law and Order'.
