The sun was shining brighter than usual today, all of the valleys were light up in the glorious light and more importantly the California breeze was running through the air.

"Alexis, do you want some water?" Matthew offered. They were on a hike for their usual Saturday morning exercise as a family. When she was a baby they would bring her still but make sure she was covered up more. But now she was six she was able to run and walk besides them.

"Yes Daddy" She stopped and kindly took the Frozen water bottle from her dad. Taking more than a few drops of the liquid.

"Where's mom?" Alexis asked. She had told them she was going to run ahead to see what the terrain was like as they had never been to this part before and that was several minutes ago.

"You know what your mother is like" Matthew laughed. A small chuckle left Alexis mouth.

"Momma" Alexis ran to her mom, throwing her arms around her waist and holding on tightly til she felt her feet gently lift off the ground as her mom held her just as tightly back.

"You okay sweetie?" She asked concerned.

"I just missed you".

She kissed her daughter's head. "I missed you too".

"Did you find anything?" Matthew asked pulling his sunglasses back down on his face.

"Yes" Lea jumpingly squealed. "Come on"

They family ran side by side down the small hill and over another couple before Lea slowed down the pace and presented them with what she found on her small solo adventure.

"It's a lake" Alexis clapped excitedly.

"It sure is" Lea said proudly for finding this beauty. They were often located on hike areas and were normally safe as they were hidden well.

"Come on then" Matthew laughed. He picked up Lea and threw her over his shoulder. Despite her demands to be put down he refused. He went into the water slowly at first. He could hear his wife's giggles from above him the whole time.

"Matthew I wouldn't even think about it" Her serious mother tone was now being used.

"Or you'll?" He questioned with a slightly wink in his eye.

He kissed her lips tenderly remembering their daughter was nearby before he dropped her into the cold lake and waited for her to return to the surface.

"I wanna come in" Alexis stomped her foot seeing her parents having fun without her.

"Okay Princess, I'm coming to get you" He moved through the water and carried her on his back until he reached Lea again.

Alexis could swim very well but the both of them would never let her out of their sight or reach while she was here. "Stay close yeah?" She nodded and swam nearby seeing the view.

Trees, but massive oaks surrounded the lake with their branches dangling in the water; the wildlife was practically gone due to the popularity of the hike zone.

"I love this" Lea sighed, she was now opposite Matthew, her arms were loosely around his neck, with his around her waist holding her close.

"Love what?" He asked pretending to be dumb.

"Us" She smiled.

"I love you" He said and kissed her lips, slipping his tongue slightly in without anyone noticing.

"Stop" She giggled hiding her head in his neck.

"Fine" He winked and moved away from her going over to where Alexis was. She had found several frogs and began to play with them. They were small baby ones and looked like they were enjoying it as much as their daughter was.

"Did you know if you kiss a frog he'll turn into a prince?" Matthew said. Lea had now joined them. She was on Matthew's back her head rested on his shoulder.

"Eww, that's disgusting" Alexis stuck out her tongue unimpressed. "I'd rather wait thank you" She said proudly.

Lea and Matthew laughed so loudly. She truly was their daughter.
