Maddies POV

He left me. How could he do that? What did I do that was so wrong? My head was spinning and there was a lump in my throat. The realisation hit me that I was in a strangers house, on my own, with people who I'd never met before and the only person I felt a connection with had just walked out on me. I could feel the tears coming.

"Hey, don't worry. I know what Jack is like and right now he just needs to cool off a little, trust me." Rosa said.

"But that's the thing, can I trust you? Really? I've practically been held captive all of my life whilst been half beaten to death most of the time and now I'm in a strange house with people I've never seen before and with a guy who wants nothing to do with me who makes my heart beat a thousand times a second. I'm trying, I really am but It's hard." I reply. You can't blame me for thinking like this. I don't know these people.

"Hey, you're right. I'd find it difficult to. How about we go for a look around the house and I show you around a little? Might help you get to know the place a little?" Rosa asks me. I nod and walk with her while she shows me around.

"Here is the kitchen, I spend most of my time here like most of the ladies in the house, as you can see it's pretty big but it needs to be to fit everyone's needs." I stood in awe as she waved her arms around at the big, modern kitchen. It had two sinks, three huge fridges, a cooker, three ovens and a kitchen island. The worktops were black Marble and the cupboards were like a glossy, beige. I smiled at the ladies and few children who were in there.

We moved through a huge open plan living room, this was already familiar to me so we walked up the stairs. "This is mine and Connors room. We're moving out though when I get pregnant to our own place just opposite this house so I can look after the baby and have privacy!" She laughed whilst crossing her fingers. "Every room has its own en suite bathroom. God could you imagine the queue for the bathroom of the morning if there was only one toilet! Ha!"

I've only known Rosa for a few hours but I knew we would get along. I could tell she was trying to make me feel better and make me feel welcome.

"Then this... Is your room!" She said as she opened the door to a huge room a few doors down from her room. It had a king sized bed in the middle of the room with a TV opposite it on the wall above a fireplace. Either side of the bed was a bedside table and in the corner was a door leading to a small office area. On the other side of the room was a door leading to a walk in wardrobe and another door leading to an en suite bathroom with a standing shower, a sauna, a jacuzzi bath tub, a toilet and two sinks. I was amazed but there was just one thing.

"Um, there's somebody already staying in this room." I said quietly.

"Oh, yeah. Um these are Jacks things. You'll be staying with him. I'm sorry, I just assumed that you'd want to stay with each other because you're mates? I can change it for you if you like? I can-" I cut her off before she could carry on.

"No, it's fine, I'll stay here, honestly it's okay" I told her. There was an awkward silence.

"Hey want to see something cool?" She asked me and I nodded.

We walked into the office and she looked at me. "I don't get it?" I asked her.

She clicked a button under the desk and a rug slid across the floor to reveal a set of stairs. " follow me!" She smiled. I followed her down the stairs and into a room with a low ceiling and painted silver walls. There were screens on one wall that showed camera footage of every room in the house. There was a small toilet and a cupboard with enough food in it to last a week. The room was quite small and there was a double bed in the back. In another cupboard there was a medical kit and weapons. A phone was on the wall and there was a water machine on the other side.

"This is Jacks panic room, he can come here if anything was to happen to the house. Right now we are in between the floorboards of the second floor and the ceiling of the lower floor. And, the best thing about this place is it is completely soundproof, nobody can hear you. Pretty good place for hide and seek! Listen, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH" she screamed as we watched the screens with CCTV footage of the whole house on it. Not one single person flinched. "You try!" She told me.

I hesitated but before I knew it we were both screaming our heads off as loud as we could and laughing like idiots.

"Ooops! Connor thinks I'm hurt, hold on a sec" she told me before she stared forward and looked like she was in deep concentration. "Jacks looking for you Mad, he's going to meet you here, I'll give you some space. Remember what I said, he just needed to cool off, give him a chance, I know he cares" she said.

Just like that I was one my own again.
