I stepped off of the plane. Cassidy looked at me and smiled. "Ready to start a new life here?" she asked.
"Totally." I told her.
I was really excited. In our last home we both had a bad experience. Cassidy had a boyfriend that cheated on her. I lost my family in a car accident a few months ago.
"So we have a meeting with the building manager tonight. If we get it my parents will send the rest of our things." Cassidy told me.
We picked up our luggage from the baggage claim and got a cab. Cassidy told him the address and we were on our way.
"Excuse me. We are looking for the manager of the building." Cassidy asked someone in the lobby. She was always the brave one out of the both of us.
"Is one of you Cassidy Jones." he asked.
"I am." she said.
"Welcome to the building! I show you all of the open rooms and you can choose." he told us.
One room was nice but, there were holes in almost every single wall. The second one was to small. The third only had one room and Cassidy and I didn't want to share a room. We like our privacy. The fourth room was perfect. It was medium sized, it had two rooms, and there weren't any holes in the wall.
"This one." Cassidy said.
"Good, good. Start getting set up and I will go get your keys." he told us leaving.
Cassidy instantly pulled out her phone to tell her parents that we found an apartment. I wish i had parents to call. I miss my family. Why did I have to lose them?
"Do you want to go out for dinner?" Cassidy asked.
"Okay. Let me just go fix up my hair." I told her.
I went to the bathroom and took my dark brown hair out of a bun. I ran my brush through it, hoping that i could fix it up.
"You look beautiful. I hope you know that." Cassidy said leaning against the door.
"Are you sure about that?" I asked.
"Yes. Back at our old home you had guys coming from every direction." she told me.
I smiled and she walked over to me and put my hair into a pony tail.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yeah. Lets go." i said picking up my purse. We ran into the building manager on our way out and he gave us the key. Cassidy got another cab and we went to the restaurant.
"Hi. My name is Robbie and i will be you server today." said our waiter, Robbie.
"Can we just have some lemonade to start out with." Cassidy said.
She knew our order so well, but she said it kind of rudely. I guess that is because her ex-boyfriends name was Robbie. He came back with drinks and we ordered our dinner. I had salmon and Cassidy had a salad since she was a vegetarian.
"Do you think we will ever see Ian?" she asked.
"I don't know. If we do, don't attack him." I told her.
She laughed at me and continued poking at her salad. At the end of the meal Robbie came by and left the check. Cassidy left the money and we left. When we got back to the apartment I saw a familiar face.
"Jemima! That's Ian Casselman!" Cassidy whispered excitedly.
"Be cool." I told her.
We walked down the hall and Ian spotted us.
"Hey. Jemima right?" he asked.
"Yeah. This is my friend Cassidy. Thank you for telling me about the apartment. We found the perfect one." I told him.
"Oh really? Can I walk you to you door?" he asked.
"Yes! You can!" Cassidy told him excitedly.
We walked down the hall. Once Cassidy and I got to our door we stopped.
"Why did you guys stop?" Ian asked.
"This is our apartment." I told him.
"No way! My apartment is right there!" he told us pointing at the door across the hall from us.
Cassidy squealed. I took out my key and opened the door. I waved to Ian and walked into the apartment.
"I think he likes you." Cassidy said taking out the blow up mattresses that we were going to sleep on.
"I think you are over thinking this." I told her.
We finished setting up and Cassidy pulled out her book and iPod. She started to read and I just sat there.
"Do you want to listen to some of my music?" she asked.
"Sure." I told her.
"I have a Marianas Trench playlist on. So, if Ian asks you out you will know some of his bands music." Cassidy told me tossing me her iPod.
I rolled my eyes at her. As if he would every ask me out. Do I even like him? I think I do.
