Strange Dreams (Origins Ghostbur)

Note: Text in italics in this case means that it's a dream and/or a flashback. Enjoy :)

A dark gradient surrounded me, I tried to move but when I looked at my feet I was... Floating? This was for sure a dream but damn, this was a weird one. There was an eerie silence in this atmosphere, I appeared to be the only person. Suddenly, I was placed into a dark cave.

This cave appeared to have a nearby abanded mine shaft with its age showing through its many cobwebs and dust spots. A women figure then suddenly appeared. This woman was quite tall, she had a long purple hat that was positioned just right to make it hard to see her face, a beautiful long purple dress was covering her, along with three pairs of golden wings complimenting her dress floating on her back.

"Hello, darling. Do not be afraid." The woman said. I adjusted myself to make myself appear less afraid of this woman. "Oh, poor child. I come to bring forth to you some news that will occur in the not-so-distant future." The woman continued, "Excuse me, ma'am, but how do I know I can trust you?" I questioned this mysterious woman. 

The woman stood upright and responded, "Well, my child, I am the goddess of death. If you are not to trust me, then who should you trust about how you may die?" Goddess of death? The woman continued, "I don't have much time, may I please continue?" I nodded and the goddess cleared her throat before saying, "Soon, there will be a change in rulership. From someone you know very well."  I was about to say something but the goddess continued before I could speak, "This new ruler, he'll try to bribe you with his gifts to make you trust him. But this will lead to your downfall." 

I looked at the goddess and asked, "Can you tell me who?" The goddess shook her head with a sad smile and replied, "Unfortunately not, my dear. As it would change the timelines and cause irreversible changes." I was going to question her more but the goddess touched my forehead and said, "Now, wake up, my dear child. And befriend that Wilbur, be kind to him."

I opened my eyes to find myself laying on Wilbur's sofa. He must've put a duvet over me because I couldn't recall putting it on myself last night. Wilbur was still asleep on the floor beside me, I had a weird feeling in my stomach, I think I caught feelings for Will. I remembered that Niki wanted me to meet her at the lake so I quickly threw together an outfit and quickly wrote a note for Wilbur before I headed off to Niki's lake.

Once I got to the lake Niki was already waiting for me, "Morning, sleepyhead." She said with a smile, I sat down in front of Niki and giggled, "Morning..." I said groggily, Niki had made herself comfortable in the water and looked at me, "Where did you end up sleeping last night?" She asked, "Oh, well... Wilbur let me stay at his place. So I slept on his sofa." I replied, Niki had a slightly mocking smile on her face as she replied, "You know, I think Wilbur might like having you around."

"What do you mean?" I asked, "I mean, you two have a lot in common, you both love to make music. I think you'd be good friends." Niki answered. My stomach let out a low growl and Niki laughed, "Did you eat yet, Y/n?" She asked, I shook my head embarrassingly as I answered, "No, I was in such a rush I must've forgotten to grab something befo-" "Y/n! There you are!." Wilbur's voice suddenly said. I turned around to see Wilbur standing just behind me with some food. He was in his phantom form again which I found quite cute, Wilbur was always a bit shyer around me compared to someone like Phil or Tommy, but I assumed it was because we had just met.

Wilbur sat down beside me and handed me the food he was holding, "I know you haven't eaten yet today, so here." He said. I quickly ate the food while he and Niki talked. 

Once I had finished eating I looked at Niki and asked, "Can I tell you about a weird dream I had last night?" Niki nodded and I then proceeded to tell her and Wilbur about the strange death goddess and what she had told me last night.

Wilbur seemed a bit worried once I was finished and hugged me, "Are we going to get hurt?" He asked, he was a little cold, but then again he was a phantom. "I don't know, Will. I'll have to ask next time I see her." I answered, and this seemed to calm Wilbur's nerves a bit. Niki on the other hand didn't seem too worried at all, "I'm sure it was all just made up by your mind, Y/n. But please be careful." She said.

No, it was going to happen. It's happened on multiple occasions before.

~Flashback~

Y/n had unintentionally predicted her own future in her dreams multiple times. Over a year ago she had dreamt of a guy matching Phil's appearance exactly. Whenever she had dreams that went into extreme detail her thoughts always went to the worst thing.

So obviously, she was worried about Wilbur and everyone when the Goddess of Death came to her last night to tell her she might die to this new ruler.

But she still had hope that it was all just a dream.

~End of flashback~

"Come on, Y/n. Tommy wanted to go explore with you and me today." Wilbur said. I stood up and waved goodbye to Niki before heading off to the forest with Wilbur.

When we entered the forest Wilbur hugged my arm, "What are you doing, Will?" I asked, my face was a bit red at this point when he replied, "I don't want you to get lost, silly." We eventually found Tommy and as per usual, he had a smug look on his face. "Wilbur and Y/n sitting in a tree." He taunted, "K-n-o-c-k-i-t-o-f-f." Wilbur replied, Tommy frowned and we all then made our way deeper into the forest.

Only if we knew what we were going to run into while we were on our little adventure.
