Chapter 1

Kenji

My alarm goes off at 6:30 am I turn it off and go back to sleep. About 30 minutes go by and my mom comes into my room "Kenji! Wake up you have school In five minutes! What are you still doing in bed?!" I turn over and cover my head "five more minutes" I say as I close my eyes. My mom rips my blanket off of me and takes my pillows and throws clothes at me "If you don't get ready right now you're grounded this entire school year, do you hear me?!" "Yes, mom" She leaves my room and about two minutes later I finally get out of bed. I grab a plain white shirt and some blue jeans. I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I finish I quickly fix my ginger hair and I go into my room. I grab a black coat and my shoes. I run downstairs and I grab my school bag. I go into my mom's car as she drives me to school. The clock now says 7:20 am. "I'm just on time!" I think to myself as I grab my bag from the floor. I say bye to my mom as I get out of the car. I run inside the building and I run to class. I check my schedule to see what I have for first period. "Science? Seriously?" I go to the 3rd floor and I walk into the class. I quickly find an empty seat and I sit down. One of my classmates, Alexis throw me a note. I open it and I read it. "Meet me in the boy's bathroom? <3" I look at her and nod. She raises her hand and the Science teacher, Mr.Tuffin calls on her. "Can I use the bathroom?" I quickly raise my hand "Yeah me to?" He looks at us with a confused look. "You may" he says in a quite tone. We both get up and walk out the classroom. She sneaks into the boys bathroom with me and we go into a bigger stall. "What do you want Alexis?" "Jesus can't I have a normal conversation without you being rude Ken?" She asks me in a sweet voice. "Don't call me that. What do you what?" Alexis didn't say anything. instead, she kisses me. I push her away as fast as I could "what the fuck is wrong with you?!" "what do you mean? Don't you like me? I saw you looking at me last year! Don't be dumb" I shake my head and I storm out of the bathroom. I go back to class and a few minutes later she comes in as well. 30 minutes later the bell rings and I quickly grab my bag and run out of the room. I run into my best friend, Damion. "Hey! What's wrong? Why you look so upset?" I go silent for a second then I reply "I'll tell you later" "okay..but who do you have for 2nd period?" I look at my schedule. "Mrs. Smith. What about you?" "Tuffin" he replies. "I just had him! We didn't do anything he's pretty chill" "thanks uh good luck with Mrs.Smith" the bell rings and we walk separate ways. I go down to the 2nd floor as I look for her class. As I'm looking I see my friends Benjamin and Reggie. They run over to me with red faces. "Holy shit Kenji you won't believe what the hell just happened!" "what happened?!" I ask them. "Alexis just kissed us! Can you believe it?" I roll my eyes "yeah she kissed me too" Reggie smirks and says "She's turning into a little slut isn't she?" we all laugh as we continue talking "Maybe she'll kiss Damion and Axel next" Benjamin says. I don't really mind Alexis she usually just stays in her own thoughts and doesn't bother anyone I wonder what changed? The bell rings and we all go to our classes. Reggie and I have Mrs.Smith but Benjamin has Ms.Smart. I find her name weird but Benjamin loves it for some reason. Why? I have no idea. Me and Reggie walk to class. We find two empty desks and we sit in them. Mrs.Smith walks over to us right when she sees us. "This isn't going to work boys. One of you needs to move Into the front." Reggie rolls his eyes "Why?" he asks with a sassy tone in his voice. "I'm the teacher and you'll do as I say. Now move!" Reggie begins his sentence but I interrupt him "Reg, it's fine i'll move." I grab my bag and I walk to the front of the class. A boy I don't recognize chuckles to himself. "Mind your fucking business" I say to him. Reggie hears me and chimes in "Who even are you like mind your fucking business! You look gay as hell what the fuck?" The boy looks down and I just walk away to my seat but Reggie is still talking to him. "Leave him alone and pay attention before I wright you and your little friend up." She points at me and I give her a confused look "what did I do? I'm just sitting here!" "You started it didn't you?" she asks me. I roll my eyes as I stay silent. 3rd and forth period go by slowly. I walk to the cafeteria with Axel and Benjamin. We sit at a table as we wait for Reggie and Damion. They finally walk Into the cafeteria and sits down with us. Before anyone says anything Reggie blurts out "Who else did Alexis kiss?" All of us agree except Damion. "She didn't kiss you?" Axel asks "No?"  Damion replies. Everyone starts laughing at him. "I mean I understand why, you are the ugliest out of us" "Have you seen yourself Benjamin?" I say to him. Everyone laughs, including Damion. I need to be honest Damion is one of the most attractive people in our grade. I mean, who wouldn't wanna date a mixed boy with curly brown hair? If he was a girl i'd definitely try and hook up with him. But I'm not gay, I'm just saying. We grab our lunches and we just talk. I listen to them argue over which girl is the prettiest. "It's Aaliyah!" Axel yells. "No way it's Alexis" Reggie and Benjamin say. Me and Damion never really had crushes growing up, I am mean I had one crush in middle school but she moved to Paris the start of Freshman year. As I look around the cafeteria I see the boy from 2nd period looking at me with another person. I think nothing of it and I look away. The bell rings. Me and Damion grab our stuff as we head to Spanish. 20 minutes later the bell for Spanish rings. Damion, Axel, Reggie, and Benjamin all have the same class while I'm stuck alone in P.E. I go into the changing room and there's nobody In there except the boy from Mrs. Smiths. He has pink straight hair and bright blue eyes. I look at him for a bit to long, but to me only felt like a second. "What?" he asks me. ".nothing" I reply as I look away. I change and I go into the gym area. All we did was run laps and played dodgeball. The bell rings and everyone goes into their locker rooms to change. I go to my last period, Study hall. I finished all my work so I decided to go to sleep. The bell finally rings. Everyone leave except, I'm still asleep. Someone shakes me and says and in a soft tone "Hey, wake up the bell rang already" I open my eyes and all I see are black and white shoes leaving. I stand up and grab my stuff and I walk home.
