jaime sat on the grass of barden university and looked out at the scene. her eyes danced either amongst the rounds of students that had returned to start a new school year or with the sparse array of teachers that were just talking about what they had planned.

she was one of the latest sets of freshmen at the university and to say it was a large batch would be an understatement. jaime had come from a small highschool so this big university was a big change.

deciding to finally get her room sorted, she bumped into a guy. "i'm so sorry, i was in my own world." jaime stumbled as she looked up. "i'm jaime."

"jesse." they both had a look of awe on their face as they ended up walking the same route. "kind of awkward, isn't it?"

"what's kind of awkward?" jaime had her keys in-between her teeth. "oh. yeah, kind of. but if we fumble, it only gets worse from here."

"we shouldn't fumble then?" the two stood at the doors next to one another. "we're neighbours. that's weird. and a coincidence." jesse said, suitcase handle in his right hand.

"well if it's a coincidence then i think it's telling us that we're going to be very good friends! see you around, pinkman."

"pinkman?" jesse chuckled. "was that a breaking bad reference?" "of course. see you around." jaime almost saluted before slipping into the dorm room. there was one bed which only meant one thing:

she had scored a room to herself.

with finishing the finishing touches of her room, jaime laid on the bed and took it all in. the dorm was smaller than she expected, yet there were no complaints.

it must have been a mistake though. who accidentally leases a freshman a single dorm?

jaime brushed that thought behind her as she went to reach for the doorknob. a knock made her jump as she stood back a bit. "come in?"

the door opened and jaime was met with jesse and someone she hadn't met. "jaime, this is my room mate, benji. wait, you scored a single room?" "surprisingly. i don't think i was supposed to but here i am. hi, i'm jaime." "benji, pleasure to be of your acquaintance." he whispered something to jesse and he shook his head.

"should we check out the local scene?" jaime asked the two, mostly jesse but she paid attention to benji aswell.

"sounds great!" benji smiled as he trailed behind the two. jaime brought benji beside her and the three began their journey into the university's main square.

chatter amongst students immediately filled the air and jaime was thrilled.

"what are you studying?" benji asked jaime and she grinned. "something you're interested in?"

"musical theatre." jesse listened to the conversation the two started to have, "i would have gone to a real fancy school dedicated to theatre but the closest school is miles away. my car can only take so much gas, right?"

"right." jesse agreed to her statement, "you drive?" "you don't?"

they were interrupted by a cover of let it whip by dazz band.

"good song choice." jaime nodded her head to the beat as she encouraged jesse and benji to go for the gold. "i'm going to find a random club to join. meet you back at the dorms."

before she could go, jesse lightly brushed his arm with hers. jaime blushed but continued on, trying to find something of interest.

there were so many clubs that didn't catch jaime's attention. turning the corner, she saw a ginger and a blonde, the blonde holding flyers for something.

they whispered amongst themselves before smiling at the girl. "hi." the ginger smiled, "are you possibly interested in joining the barden bellas?"

"the what? barden bellas? what is it?" "the only all female acapella singing group." the blonde answered and jaime looked at the flyer she gave her. "it's totally aca-awesome."

jaime was astounded by this. "are you the same as those guys over there?" she pointed to 'the treblemakers' and you could see the rage inflicted on the blonde's face. her face lit up as she remembered something, "didn't you viciously throw up over the third row at regionals?"

this caused the blonde to huff.

"we are better than them. see you at auditions?"

jaime took a deep breath in, "see you at auditions."

as she was walking back to where jesse and benji were, jaime looked at the flyer in her hands and laughed, "acapella. who'd have thought?"

walking up to the studio, jaime fiddled with the paper in her hands. getting directions, she walked towards a door that said 'studio'. walking up to the small booth, there's no one there.

"you're jaime, right?" the guy opened the door, holding a crate of stuff. "the intern?"

"yes!" "i'm luke."

a tired voice echoed next to jaime. "hi, i'm here for the internship." "you're late." luke nodded before placing the cd filled box down on a table.

"you do the internship aswell?" "duh. i love music." jaime said, as if it were the most obvious thing.

"okay, you guys will be spending a lot of time here, stacking cds. more cds will be stacked when you're done. now, you guys will be spending a lot of downtime together."

jaime nodded, "so please, just don't have sex on the desk. i've been burned before." luke walked off and jaime turned away from where luke once stood.

"wow, that was unnecessary."

jesse agreed as they began to stack the cds. "isn't it crazy how we're together everywhere?"

"sure. the dorms were strange but this is just weird." jaime pointed out. "i guess this is all that happens." she looked at a soundtrack. "it's boring."

"nope, i love stacking cds." this earned a chuckle out of the younger student. "i mean, if it's boring for you, sex was an option luke specifically mentioned."

jaime rolled her eyes. "shut up and put the cds away."
