Everyone's eyes went wide when he said those words to the future king of Devildom.

He's joking...right? He had to be joking?!

Diavolo: W-What? Could you please repeat that?

Mammon: I've said...I'm retiring from being the Avatar Of Greed.

*Earlier*

It was just another day in the House Of Lamentation.

Lucifer doing paperwork. Leviathan playing video games or watching anime. Satan couped up in the library reading. Beelzebub raiding the fridge and Belphgor sleeping in whatever spot he can find that looks comfy.

MC...just being MC. Just letting the brothers do whatever they want unless they want something out of them.

Mammon...is not sure how to feel about the human anymore.

Like the brothers, he had opened his heart to MC and they used to be the only person who actually listens to him. MC was the mediator of the demon brothers and they all considered the human (sheep?) family by now.

But now...things were different.

MC now barely spends time with him anymore. At first, he didn't mind...though he was a bit jealous and acted like a tsundere whenever his brothers stole MC from him....

But once he noticed that MC started giving him annoyed looks and side remarks like his brothers. Did he do something wrong? Did his Greed act up again and he stole from them? Maybe it was something valuable or maybe an family heirloom?

Maybe that was case...No wonder they were mad at him. They are probably avoiding him for that.

if so, Mammon will own up to it. He tried everything to get MC back on his side. Such as spoiling them.

Apologies. Gifts. Even Money. Anything he could think of.

That's when he begin to pick up on what's going on...It didn't take him long to learn the terrible truth...

Just like his brothers...

MC saw him as an annoying NUISANCE and like the others. They begin to insult him too.

If this feeling he has in his stomach ain't betrayal, he's not even sure what it is. Because his heart hurts. A LOT.

Though, Mammon knew he had business elsewhere. He had no time to deal with the human anymore.

They were no longer worth his time.

It's time to bury the hatchet with some old foes that caused him so much anxiety over the years.

Satan: Where you going?

Mammon: Out. I have business in the human world.

Asmo: He has a meeting with the witches.
