"Hello boss. The new york times wants to schedule an appointment with you at 3." I shook my head, "No, I can't do it at 3. Ask them if I can do it at 4." Ms. Hastings pulled out a pen and a notepad as she jotted words down. " You got it boss." Right before Ms. Hastings walked away, "Ms. Hastings? I would also love a coffee?" She jotted more words in her notepad and quickly walked away.
What did I have at 3 that was so important? Oh right, I am meeting up with a girl named Chloe. Apparently we went to high school together. "Hello George." I smiled. "Ms. McCreedy, what shall I help you with?" He bowed for me as if I were a queen. "Would you be a dear and remind me who Chloe is?" George's eyes widened. "You forgot about Chloe?! Remember when you first got a job here as the editor and chief of the Blush Magazine?" I laughed at him as if he was crazy. "I would never forget that!" He nodded his head. "Remember how upset you would use to get when someone would mention the name Chloe? How she bullied you in school? How she ruined your high school experience?" Chloe. That girl. The girl who stole MY boyfriend. The girl who destroyed MY prom. How could I have erased her from my memory. "Would you like me to cancel your three o'clock appointment?" George held out a tissue as if he expected me to let out all of my feelings. "No. We have a lot to catch up on." I pushed the tissue away from me. I can't wait to see this bitch again.
