It was a chilly winter evening, and the air possessed a bitter feeling when the sun fell beneath the horizon. The vegetation was nearly done shedding its leaves, but the ground hadn't yet begun to shield itself with snow. Y/n zipped up their jacket as they walked down the brick path to the studio. Peering around the side of the building, they found Kurt smoking against the wall.
"I would have never expected to see you here." Y/n said sarcastically.
Kurt let out a singular laugh.
"Always such a comedian."
"More of one than you could ever be."
Kurt didn't reply and instead watched any remaining sunlight disappear. He put the cigarette up to his lips and inhaled as though it was his last breath.
"Are you going to sit out here and smoke all evening or are we going to go inside and practice?"
"Let's go."
Kurt used the tip of his boot to crush the cigarette remains into the soil. Y/n smiled and the two of them entered the studio. Kurt set up the microphone while y/n grabbed their bass. The others were waiting and visibly impatient.
"We really did a lot without our lead vocalist and bassist." Mickey commented.
Kurt shrugged his shoulders and pointed to y/n.
"This one was late"
Y/n kindly shoved Kurt for his excuse and then grabbed their bass.
"You ready?" Y/n asked.
The band members took a deep breath and began their practice.
"Hey! Wait! I've got a new complaint." Kurt sang.
"Forever in debt to your priceless advice." y/n joined in.
