Ok so this is the first story I'm publishing so no it is not copyrighted. Enjoy.

I sit in my chamber the dark walls seemingly flickering in the soft glow of the fire in the hearth. The screech of the rusted door hinges alert me to her presence and I turn just as my little princess Kaelyn's halo of white gold hair appears around the door of my chamber.

"Father, there is a police officer here to see you." she says sweetly in her nine year old voice but even the sweetness of her voice could not prevent my blood turning cold. I know exactly why Detective Donaldson would be sitting in the dilapidated confines of my parlor. The blood, I imagined, is everywhere, all over the walls and making the stairs slick as I make my way down the landings, narrowly avoiding stepping on the stairs that had long since caved in.

My mind is on the blood, the blood that had been everywhere when incision after incision had been made on the bodies of my friends. When the skin had been peeled from their bodies only to be discarded onto the cold stone floor. Cleaning up had been horrific, sweeping up discarded body parts that had been mutilated beyond recognition and burying what little remained of my friends. It had only been cracked and yellowing bones but I knew that downstairs lay souvenirs of their murders.

As I enter my parlor I greet detective Donaldson and invite him to sit. His ruddy face and bulbous nose make him repulsive to the eye this fact was not helped by the rotund shape of him, I observed as I awaited the accusations. They didn't come and instead his smile turned sympathetic but I knew it was false sincerity and I forced my face into a small smile at his small kindness. "Hello Roger, how are you today?" he begins sounding reluctant and uncomfortable with small talk. After a few minutes of reminiscing with the officer his face turns blank and he begins asking me when I had seen my friends last and if I had any part in their deaths.

The blood, it is everywhere, almost as if my five friends are still with me. They are on the walls and the rotting wood of the floor and dripping quietly from the candelabras a drop even falls from the roof on to the tip of Donaldson's nose and I nearly wretch feeling close to discovery. "Did you have any part in the murder of your friends, Roger?" he repeats and with the blood of my friends surrounding me I almost admit what had happened however I couldn't do that, it would mean leaving my little princess alone.

I stand suddenly and act enraged and incredulous, spitting insults at the officer about respect and how dare he enter my living quarters with such an accusation. I am enraged and frustrated at myself for the cruelty that had occurred here in my house, it was my fault the manor would be tainted long after I left the earth. I yell that I had seen my friends about two to three days before each of their individual murders had occurred.

Just as I am about to eject him from my doorstep, my little princess Kaelyn enters. Her halo of white blonde hair glinting in the candlelight, a sight that nearly distracted me from the fact that in her little, pale hand lay a severed finger. I pale fearing what she would say. "Whose finger is this, Father?" she says sweetly and too quick for me to follow officer Donaldson has me pinned on the ground and is manacling my hands tightly behind my back. "No, it wasn't me, it was Kaelyn!" I scream betraying my only family but the officer pays no heed to my screaming and roughly pulls me up until I am standing and pushes me forward toward his horse. My little princess had betrayed me.

Epilogue: Kaelyn

I watch out the window of the old parlor, the feeling of euphoria coursing through my veins, I had finally rid myself of my father. He was so weak, he wretched when cleaning up the discarded body pieces and did little more than cry otherwise. I cannot believe they actually believe he had killed those men, he was just a pawn in a much larger game. Remembering the betrayal when he had disclosed that it had been me I feel my mood change and I began to shake with fury. I need to find someone to clean up after my 'Playtime' and I needed them here now.
