Chrisen
"Kanina ka pa?" Tanong ko kay Cindy ng makita ko itong naghihintay sa akin dito sa may parking lot.
It's our first day of school at kagaya ng sinabi nito ay sasamahan ako nito.
"Hindi naman. Ten minutes pa lang."
"Nasaan si Cael?" I asked about her brother.
Ngumiti ito ng nakakaloko. "Miss mo na agad?"
I giggled.
"Sira, hindi no. Hindi lang ako sanay na makita ka tapos wala siya."
Kumapit ito sa braso ko. "It's ok. He's gonna be late. Kailangan niya minsan matuto na hindi lahat ng oras ay nandito ako para gisingin siya."
Napangiti ako. "So you just let him sleep?"
"Yep, let's go." Akay nito sa akin bago kami naglakad sa may hall. "Ihahatid muna kita sa room mo. Si Cael dapat ang kasama mo ngayon dahil magkapareho kayo ng klase pero minsan hindi talaga iyon maaasahan."
Natawa ako rito. "It's ok. Ayaw ko rin naman maging depende sa kahit kanino."
Nakita kong halos lahat ng nakakasalubong at nadadaanan naming estudyante ay napapatingin sa akin. Maybe because I am new.
Ilang saglit pa ay nakarating na kami sa may Business Ad building.
"I'll see you later sa cafeteria." Wika nito kaya tumango ako bago bumeso rito.
"See you."
Papasok na sana ako ng may sumigaw sa pangalan ko. Paglingon ko ay nakita ko si Cael na hinihingal pa dahil sa pagtakbo. Nakasalubong pa nito si Cindy at nakipag-fist bump rito.
"Hey! You're quiet late Cael."
"Good morning Chrisen! Please don't state the obvious."
I giggled.
Naglabas naman ito ng isang tangkay ng puting rosas. White means purity. Ibig sabihin lang non ay malinis talaga ang intensyon nito sa akin.
"I know you told me you love someone else before but you don't expect me to stop loving you that easily Chrisen. You're a strong, great, and gorgeous woman. Pero kahit magkaibigan lang tayo. Friends are allowed to give something to know that we appreciate them so Chrisen, I wanna say thank you for the friendship especially for coming back here."
I beamed. Heto iyong gustong gusto ko kay Cael. Masyado siyang gentleman. He's the kind of ideal guy next door.
Bakit hindi ko iyon nakita noong una pa? Baka hindi si Porcia ang bulag dahil hindi niya ako makita kundi ako mismo dahil si Cael ang hindi ko makita?
Tinanggap ko ang bulaklak mula rito.
"Thank you Cael but don't worry." Tinitigan ko ito sa mga mata. I saw his pleading sincerity eyes.
Maybe I should give him a chance? Maybe it will work out. Now that I'm divorced, I have no chance of getting back together with Porcia. I should have my happy ending with someone else.
"I'm not gonna stop you kung gusto mo akong ligawan."
Kagaya ng sinabi ko. I am Chrisen Miller.
"Yes-"
"Shut up Mr. Denares."
Naputol ang pagsigaw sana ni Cael ng may sumulpot sa likuran ko. Kahit magdadalawang linggo ko ng hindi naririnig ang boses nito ay kilalang kilala ko pa rin.
Agad bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko.
I hate this feeling.
Ginawa ko ang lahat para iwasan si Porcia. Simula noong gabing iyon ay araw araw na kaming magkasama ni Cindy. Ipinapasyal ako nito, sila ni Cael.
Kadalasan ay nagpapagabi ako kapag nasasabi ni mommy na inanyayahan nito si Porcia over dinner. I can't blame them kasi close na ang mga ito dati pa.
And I know that she's gonna be here dahil nagtuturo rin pala ito dito sa school na ito. And she's gonna be our first class in our subject management elective.
Just great, when I am now running away from her. Destiny wont let me. It's so unfair!
"Sorry Professor Hart." Si Cael but I don't give a damn.
"Let's get inside Cael." I said casually completely ignoring her bago hinatak si Cael papasok sa silid namin.
Umupo kami sa may pangalawang hanay dahil may nakaupo na mismo sa harapan at ayaw ko rin namang maupo mismo sa harapan ni Porcia.
"Good morning professor Hart!" Bati ng mga kaklase ko rito. Syempre kilala nila ito because she teaches here.
Sinara nito ang pintuan at mukhang bad mood ang ex-mommy ko.
Pagkatapos nitong ilatag ang mga gamit sa lamesa ay walang emosyon nito kaming pinasadahan ng tingin. Tumigil ang mga mata nitong malalamig sa akin. I match her gaze. It takes two to tango, and I'm Chrisen. I don't back down unless I say so.
"I will rearrange your seat."
Nakarinig ako ng ilang mga pagbuntong hininga pero walang naglakas loob para magreklamo. It seems like they are scared of her, which I'm not.
"Everybody stands up, and when I pointed at you and to the seat, that's where you're going to sit."
Ano ito naglalaro lang.
Nagsimula nga itong magturo at si Cael pa talagang nasa tabi ko ang inuna nito. Inilagay nito sa may dulong likuran at ako ay sa mismong harapan nito.
I wanted to protest, but she's Porcia. Sa loob ng silid na ito. She's the law.
Ng matapos kami nitong maayos according to her favour ay saka nito pinagkrus ang mga braso nito sa dibdib defining her firm-
"That will be your permanent position all throughout this semester."
Kinuha nito ang marker saka humarap sa white board at nagsulat.
Professor Hart.
"You're only allowed to call me professor Hart and nothing else. You're either new here or not. You either know me or not. I don't care. Impress me by having excellent academics and performance. In that way, we're going to be on good terms. I don't like people who have the habit of coming late. I don't like people who are not participating in my class. If you're that person, you're not meant to be here, and taking this course is a grave mistake."
Oh gahd she's ruthless!
"I'll be your professor in the management elective; finance is an elective that will be very hard for you. Weekly assignments are number crunching, and my exams are extremely difficult; I hope you will all pass or else. I'll see you again next semester."

I cleared my throat kaya lahat ng mga ito ay napatingin sa akin.
"Do you have any problem Miss Miller?"
Namemersonal na yata ito e.
"Nope. I just want to say, 'very well said,' professor Hart. if there will be no introduction. Why don't we proceed to the discussion, professor?" Lakas loob kong wika rito bago sinalubong ang mga titig nitong nagye-yelo.
Matatakot na sana ako pero naalala kong genius pala ako. Kaya kong tugonan ang taas ng IQ nito.
"Bring out a whole sheet of paper and let's have a long quiz, shall we? Now."
