I have known Kaleb Shelton and his family since we were 5. Our parents met at school drop off , and ever since then , our two households have been inseparable. Holidays , school , weekends , surfing , heck they even live next door to us. It amazes me how I rarely get tired of him . Well , that's a lie  most of the time feel like throwing his head against a wall. That's also a lie. Almost all of the time I feel like throwing his head against the wall. But hey , that's Kaleb. And I love him for it. He's like a brother to me , since I have no siblings of my own. His sister , Kaila, is a different story. I only learned her name the other week. I probably spend more time with their parents than she does, she's always out in town or at the beach with her friends.  Kaila is a grade above at school, grade 10. I barely see her at school, she's always bunking off, Her parents don't seem to mind though. Mine however, do. If I don't get at least a B on this maths test I'm grounded for a few weeks.

Sometimes I just need a break, and that's why I surf. Every evening in summer, I head down to the Beach with Kaleb to surf. There's something so relaxing about the way the waves lap the edge of the board, and the feel of the ice cold water on your skin as you watch the golden colours of the sunset on the horizon. Surfing is the one time I can truly be at peace.  Life's currents have gotten more turbulent later. Kaleb has joined the state baseball team, and now is seems he has little time for much else. Surfing has become a sanctuary from the growing lonliness I feel now that people have started to grow apart from me. Its not that I don't have friends , I just feel isolated now my Best friend no longer has as much time for me as he used to.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             And there's nothing I can do about it.
