The choice series
(Writing in italics is in Dimitri's mind)
Running.
I was born running.
Everybody else is born crying, but I was running.
The sweat trickling down my face, I wasn't even sure what sweat was, but I didn't care, all I knew was run.
Footsteps, coming closer, closer, fighting towards me, I could hear the rubber soles of their army grade boots rubbing against the cold iron floor, I was starting to wish I was wearing shoes. But I has to focus on running, escaping, but what was I escaping from? At that moment I wasn't sure, but men chasing me may not be the best people to be around. I tried to remember something, anything, but I couldn't, where I was, who I was, even my own name was a blank. As I teared round a corner I came face to face with a creature of wonder, mystery and beauty, a girl. I almost fell backwards in surprise, luckily she was able to drag me up.
" Come on, just relax" muttered the girl calmly, acting like she had known me for ages.
" Who, what?" I stuttered.
Suddenly the mysterious girl slipped out an injector pen and jabbed it right into my thigh, before I could react I was on the ground, wondering how I had got into this mess...
Alive.
I was alive.
Everything hurt like hell, but I was alive.
As I sat up I suddenly remembered my last 'adventure' and I knew I had to get away. I surveyed my surroundings, a hospital kind of area, but it was full of teenagers laughing, not what you expect at a place where I thought I was being held captive. Before I could make my escape the girl who had stopped me before, noticed I was awake, and sped over, no seriously sped over, in front of my eyes this girl was moving so fast all I could see was a blur. As she arrived next to my bedside I was able to realise what she actually looked like, she was tall, taller then most, but slim and pale, no muscle or fat at all. But her eyes were like precious stones, glistening jade green eyes, complemented by her platinum blonde hair. I almost forgot I had no idea who she was, I was, or where I was.
" Hey, so you've woken up then" smiled the girl.
" Um yeah" I muttered.
" Oh I'm so sorry, you properly can't remember a thing!" She exclaimed.
" Well, it's all sort of a blur" I whispered, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Well don't worry, your just in time for the new and improved Kendrix tour of awesomeness!" Chuckled Kendrix
Just go along with it, maybe she knows something
" But first, I better tell you a bit about yourself, first the reason you can't remember anything is that we had to wipe your memories because you went a bit, um nutso, but that's all behind us now, new start for you my friend!" Smiled Kendrix
Even though she sounded completely mad, she was actually kind of making sense, but I was still so confused.
" Let's walk and talk" stated Kendrix as she whipped me out of bed and dragged me down a corridor.
" So basic stuff first, your name, if the big boys in charge were right, your name is Dimitri McMaster, your 17 years old, and your a student here, at St Raven-Woods Academy, like me, like everyone here." She explained.
" People like you and me, we were born different, born with 'special talents' and we come to this school to learn and become the people we were destined to be, this is where it gets a bit confusing, so hold on and try to understand."
