The Way I See You

Prologue

While attending their batch reunion, a once high school heartthrob and now a skilled airline pilot, Ice, reunited with his high school close friend, Xander, after 10 years. While Ice was able to build a solid friendship with him on their junior years, Xander happened to have a deeper different feeling that he thought Ice wouldn't understand.

After celebrating the nightlong reunion in a popular harbor club, Ice approached him and took the chance to say his icebreaker line that both of them never forget.

"Bakit nakalutang utak mo?" Ice asked him.

"Kasi isa akong artist." 

He answered the question without giving a look. He knows the voice, it was once her favorite. And that weird icebreaker question was him favorite kind of hello.

Xander can't help but to draw a smile towards Ice who he wasn't able to meet for over a decade. Ice finds comfort on his response as if he's telling him that he is welcome to enter his life again.

"Ikaw, bakit lumilipad utak mo?" he looked at Ice who obviously is excited to keep a new conversation with him after so long.

"Kasi isa akong pilot."

When their eyes meet once again after 10 years, the way Ice looks at Xander remains the same.

"You know what? If every pilot navigates throughout the sky, and sky is the limit in every artist's mind. Sometimes I wonder, are we going to meet again?"

Xander placed his right hand on his white shoulder bag, and turned himself back on looking at the busy port that draws bunch of warm colored crystals towards them through the sea waves. 

Ice stayed staring at the face that has a smile that never left since the minute he approached him.

In Ice's mind, so many things might have happened in ten years that molded the person beside him to become a successful and independent man that he is. But one thing has never changed in his eyes, Xander always glow in curly hair and his favorite checkered type of casual polo long sleeves.  

"And here, we meet again." Xander told him.
